can't share to spotify-user anymore??!!!

Hi,

I don't have facebook, twitter or tumblr - but I used to send a lot of music through the share-function. All of a sudden with this update I can only send to my spotify-friends that have facebook, twitter or tumblr it seems? one of my friends, who like me has no social network connected to the profile, the share-function just won't find anymore!Am I doing something wrong?

This is still being investigated, but hopefully it will be fixed soon! I'm dying to send some tracks out! 

Just like in other threads, would you guys be able to post the Spotify versions and devices you are using? The more information we get can only be better!

I don't think this has got anything to do with versions or devices as:

1. new problems have occured with my account and I haven't received any updates for a long time

2. various friends of mine are having problems and we're all using different devices

Yes, i agree with jazzyjez.
If you need to focus anywhere it would be facebook users vs old style (again).
Since there are some comments of sending to fb users working, but having problems with old style users.

But, for completeness, here is my version:
0.8.5.1333.g822e0de8
on a Mac, old style acount not connected to facebook (has been in the past, apparently still is somehow),
I'm getting the error only if sending tracks to non facebook users by draging the song to their name.
Right click share, or dragging to a fb user doesn't give an error.
but in both cases they don't receive anything.
The weirdest thing is, i receive spotify tracks on facebook, but not on spotify, although i disconnected spotify from facebook.

This really is the shoddiest fb integration ever (3rd problem i have with itin a few months and i'm not the only one), and that on an application that requires it from new users...

Reconnected spotify to my facebook acount to see if it helps,
i could send to a fb friend without problem,
disconnected again, the problem is back.

I am using Spotify V. 0.8.8.348ge445f5b9 on a Mac Book Pro.

Still can't receive songs sent by Facebook friends on my Spotify inbox! 😞

This is a known bug and Spotify is working on fixing the bug.

sooo not sure what you did... but it is working again for me now. I was able to send a song and the person got it in their inbox. I even got the ones they sent to me.... version 0.8.5.1356.gd1d40f3a works with both facebook people and non facebook people.

What operating system and Spotify version (Help > About) are you using? 

Before going any further, can you try a quick clean reinstallation and see if that makes a difference?

It really just boggles my mind why Spotify would make such a huge leap in the wrong direction. Like to the point that I can't even think of a single reason how or why they would let this happen. I'm at a loss for words, just hoping they fix this awful "update" and revert back to what worked awesomely and the reason we are all here on this forum trying to voice our opinions.

Has this just become a problem again? I'm not sure if it was fixed before, but since I've signed my sister up to spotify in order to share music (in the last 24 hours) I haven't been able to add her as a spotify friend to send music to.

I don't want to link it to facebook! Just to have friends on spotify I can share with.

Please can someone address this again urgently!
