syncing over data vs wifi

I am syncing one of my playlists but rarely bring up spotify on my home network using my phone .. so when I was out shopping and using the phone, it decided to start syncing over the background on my data network.  The only reason I knew is because I have a usage cap/warning message with my phone company, who sent me message saying I'd hit that limit.  

ADD AN OPTION on mobile devices to disable synching over data vs. wifi.

Is there not an option in the app's settings that says something like "Sync over 2/3G"?
