Dear Spotify Support,
The Live Events feature was a great idea, central place to consolidate a lot of music events, etc. Ever since this feature was introduced, I find myself constantly looking for new events. Previously, searching through new events, was no issue, as I kept getting recommendations relatively close to my music taste and/or based on categories I played. However, lately I noticed that a TON OF new events have been uploaded, and trying to find an event for an artist I know or would recognise, has become extremely difficult, I find myself now spending a lot more time just going through the HUGE LISTS of events trying to find something, than actually listening to music on Spotify.
I also found the user experience for Live Events on MacOS as well as iOS is not as "cool" as it could be and I will point out some of the things that perhaps could be improved.
1. on MacOS, I get 3 Sections for Live Events:
A> Discover Near You.
B> Recommended for You.
C> All.
However, when I click on A> "Show All", there is no option to Sort by "Date". Additionally, maybe interchange the Title and Artist Columns. On B> There is no option to View as “Compact List”, and on C> Since the List so HUGE, here the View as “Compact List” would be very helpful. But actually, I don’t know why I get the whole list, this section could be better synchronized to only show artists based on one’s music taste, what one plays or has played on Spotify, perhaps that’s what B> was meant to be, but even there, I also get some artists I would never play.
2. on iOS, similar to the above, except I get a few more sections, but ideally the same issues.
A> Just for You>Show all> View as “Compact List” and Sort by “Date” would be helpful.
B> Popular in [Your City]>Show all> Here the Events are not even sorted by Date. Sorting by Date and Compact List would really make people’s lives easier.
C> same as in MacOS.
Artists maybe pay more to be on top of the list “similar to GoogleAds”, and that’s why some artists show up at the very top more than others, but I just thought I share this with Developers, perhaps one day they find time to modify the Queries. I myself am a SysAdmin and work with DevOps, so I know how difficult it is to implement even small App changes.
