[Subscription] Military / Forces Discount

Spotify currently offer students a 50% discount, yet no forces discount. Spotify should introduce a forces discount for current serving members of the armed forces.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.

We've discussed this idea and while it is interesting, we aren't able to prioritize it and don't have any immediate plans to implement this. We will let you know if this changes in the future.

If we do have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

More info on why your idea has been closed can be found here.

I see this is an old thread post. Personally I am interested if this was ever implimented... As I am a soldier in the armed forces and about to deploy overseas again and I was hoping to use it while I am over there. Granted if I get a activated global phone with data.

As a member of the Armed Forces, I find it would be a great idea to let the men and women both verterans and currently serving have a discount on premium. I would personally think it a good idea.

Tidal currently offers discounts to students and armed forces active/reserve/veterans at this time. Hopefully Spotify will add something for AF.

I got a neat idea why dont spotify just honor our
transcripts so we can avail for the student discount its your typical transcript but most of our training transfers over to some college credits so technically we are studentswhile active

I am in the military, but unlike most of the posts in this thread, I am not going to threaten to take my money elsewhere, because that is just petty, and to be honest Spotify is the best music app there is, solely because of the ability to make hours worth of play lists which the user can make available offline for 8 dollars a month.  But it I do think it's in bad taste that the powers behind this wonderful program will discount their service fees for college students (what about the k-12 students and the teachers, both at the college level and K-12 level), and not those of us in the military or the local first responders.

I would only say not just for our service, but we use it so much it's not even funny. I'm not going into details, but it gets us through so much.

I mean the ads suck, but I would much rather save my money and listen on shuffle than pay over $100 a year... spotify could make so much more money if they just made premiun .99 a month, military... or not.

How much support does an idea need to be adopted? Service members and veterans alike, sacrifice more than most people will ever realize. I could go into great detail, but I will refrain and say only this for now. The time most of us spend, have spent, or will spend away from everything we know for a pittance is at the very least deserving of extended offline time and increased download limits, let alone a military discount/rate. I really hope that someone makes this happen, because I could pay as much for a whole year of Pandora one as spotify expects for just one month and I just think that's sad, and it's sad that we gotta pay just to not have the music interrupted in general.

Spotify obviously just does not have enough respect for the people that put their lives on the line for the country they love, the people in that country, and the values and way of life we all hold.

Being a veteran. I agree with the discount opportunity. You would be surprised exactly at how many places don't offer any perks for veterans or active military. This would be a nice gesture on behalf of Spotify
