In March 2023, the ♡ Heart button will start being replaced with a (+) Plus button for saving things to Your Library. Things that have been saved to Your Library will now show a green ✔ Check icon instead of a green Heart icon.
This new experience is now rolling out to the mobile and desktop apps first and will then come to the other apps (watch, TV, etc.) at a later time.
You can check out this Spotify news article for more information:
Save Your Favorite Songs, Podcasts, and More With Spotify’s Plus Button
In this post, we will show you how to use the new experience and answer your questions. You might have already seen this change being discussed in the Community recently.

This section will answer your frequently asked questions and will be updated with the latest answers.
Why are the 💚 green heart icons next to songs I've already liked missing? I used to be able to see the songs I've previously liked when viewing songs on Album and Playlist pages.
I want to add a song to a playlist from the Now Playing View, but I don't want to save it to my Liked Songs. Why do I have to save the song to Liked Songs first?
How do I remove a song from Liked Songs or my other playlists now?
How do I remove a podcast episode from Your Episodes or my other playlists now?
What happened to the "Like all songs" menu option on Album pages in the mobile app?
What happened to the "Swipe left to Like" gesture to quickly like and unlike songs in the mobile app?
Why can I no longer add a song to a playlist more than once using the "Add to playlist" menu in the mobile app? There used to be a popup telling me if a song was already added to a playlist and there was an option to ignore that and add it again.

Where can I give my feedback about the new (+) Plus button?
@Sahnaa @PurpleFan and everyone
Right now there is no further update on this other than the ability to see which songs you've liked in track listings (Playlist and Album pages) is still coming back.
When there is an update on this I will let everyone know.
Are these bug reports with hearting in queue thread being worked or noticed?
I think Spotify should consider working on bugs for a while instead of anything new.
Still don't have pluses, and maybe we should celebrate it.
my spotify app is updated but i still have the regular heart icon and not the plus.
how can i change it? i have spotify premium student acocunt
The Plus button is still being rolled out to users.
It is normal if you still see the Heart button since it hasn't been released to all users yet.
bruh if the plus comes to Linux im gone because i loved the animation when you click on it.
Spotify vaguely state that this feature will be returning ‘soon’ . On my premium account, I have been without either a heart or a plus/tick for well over a month, with no way of knowing which songs I’ve already added to my liked songs. While Spotify continuously say they are testing. It’s really appalling service.
They can take as long as they want (although I have no idea why it would take so long, and it's very frustrating to wait)...I just won't pay for premium until the feature is implemented again.
In other news my desktop app (macos) updated yesterday without my permission...but luckily the hearts are still present in all the places they used to be. At least they didn't screw up desktop.
@MattSuda
it's very disappointing that you even not give any THOUGHT before you remove this basic option and start to roll the new UI.
Hey
the plus sign is very cool but please let us see it next to a liked song when seeing different playlists like the heart shape did. When I enter a random playlist I want an easy way to see the songs I liked and the ones I didn’t yet. We need a hear/check sign next to a liked song!!

I hate "context menu" pop up menus. Idk for everyone else, but i have around 6k Liked songs. I mostly listen on shuffle and when i find a song i like, what i did was, un-heart it and heart it again to bring it to the top of my playlist.
Now it always brings up this stupid pop up menu where all your playlists are listed for quickly adding the song to them. I'ts a nice feature, but it just completely destroys the flow of using the app. You already can add a song directly to your liked songs by double tapping the "+". Why not also make it the other way around and only bring up the context menu when you double click either the "+" or hook. It works completely fine on Mac and Windows and my older version of spotify and is a breeze to use.
Man, there are so many threads about UX stuff on this forum. Why does spotify always feel the need to re-design the wheel. Just listen to your users and keep them happy. No one wants to participate in some A/B live test of new features you cant turn off.
Still waiting and hoping for this feature to be back. It entirely screws over my flow. IMG_6603.jpeg
Bring back the heart button. Does the design team consist of monkeys overdosing on caffeine? Why would they think this looks good? Not to mention that I can't even see what songs I liked when going through an album view. All these horrific changes started with one of the updates a year or two ago. Why would it be called "My Library" if I have to click two extra buttons just to get to my own personal playlists?? And I have to re-click the same two buttons every time I open the app? It's so counter-intuitive, overcomplicated and CLUNKY. Why not have it automatically organized by playlist first and then the artists I follow? removing the like button is honestly the last straw, I'm getting so fed up with these unnecessary changes.
Why is Spotify trying to become a social media platform?
The 💚 icon should be a + icon and should have the options of adding it to Albums, Playlist or Liked Songs.
This is **bleep**ing insane. Two and a half months without the damn heart. Whoever made this change **bleep** up. But to make a blog post about it and then for it not to happen is really terrible public relations.
There’s a BIG problem.
Frequently, I add duplicates of the same song to the same playlist.. but that’s not possible now! My only option is to check or uncheck the playlist I want a song to go into. But, I’m trying to INTENTIONALLY add a duplicate of that song to a different spot in the same playlist twice, maybe three, or four times. Again, the only option I’m seeing is > song I want to add > click the “…” icon beside the song title > “Add To Playlist,” > and at the next screen it shows a “✅” next to the playlist because I’ve already added the song. There’s no, “This song is already in the playlist. Add anyway?” I used to get that prompt. It also used to have a, “Add All,” or, “Skip Duplicates,” if I was adding an entire album to a playlist… None of those options are there now! All I see is, “✅,” or, “uncheck.”
How am I supposed to add the same song to a playlist multiple times now with the new update! This is a HUGE problem for me!
And, I do sincerely thank you for your help in advance! 🙏🏼❤️ — Derek

My Question or Issue
With today’s update? Looking at it on my iPhone 11? It’s brilliant that they’ve streamlined being able to easily add a song to multiple playlists by using the, ‘click = check mark’ system.

if your on iPad or iPhone logging out then in brings the hearts back ive noticed
Please bring back the green heart.
I hate the plus sign, absolutely hate it, especially because it doesn't visibly show which songs I previously liked in playlists.
bro i hate it because it took some of my songs from my 11,000 playlist meaning there were 11,000 songs but now there is not and i am mad when i went to go listen to it.
Terrible update, now I can't even see the song I've already liked. It just doesn't make any sense. Why don't Spotify let the USER choose what works best for then? like many other apps do. If my preference is to see easily wich songs I've liked why can't I simply have that? It's not that difficult. But maybe the best option is just to stop using spotify and find a new music app.
I know I’m late to the party, but that makes it so much worse that this has been making users suffer for so long.
I love finding new music. I will search random playlists for whatever kind of music I want to listen to, go through and add the songs that I don’t have liked to queue. Without being able to see the green heart next to the song, I have absolutely no clue what songs I’ve listed to before. Obviously songs that have easy names I can know I’ve heard before, but I definitely have tons of liked songs that I wouldn’t recognize the name or album cover.
I also like to be on aux around friends, and if I see that they like a song, I will go to the song radio. I’m not going to play a song that I don’t have liked because I don’t know if it will be a good song. Without seeing what songs are liked, it completely removed the ability for me to do this to play similar songs to a song I know they like, but also a song that I know is good because I have it liked.
I don’t really care what this looks like next to a song if it is a heart or a plus, but it’s not fair to just remove this feature while you take months deciding what you want to do. Add the feature back, then while it’s active you can decide what you want to do. Once you’ve made your decision then release an update that it changes. Nobody wants to be stuck in this limbo of an ineffective app for months on end.
