Audiobook search by author

I love audiobooks and am very excited by the recent audiobook announcement, however the search is extremely frustrating. I'm specifically looking for a book series by a specific author (Will Thomas). I was able to find several of his books, but they are interspersed randomly with a bunch of books that have nothing to do with this author. Additionally, I cannot click on the author to see his other books, or in any way sort the list by author which allow me to find all of his other books. Am I missing something? 

Please improve the search feature to make this easier for us book lovers to find what we are looking for. Thanks!

Thanks for posting your question on the Community!

While it's possible that other authors still appear, you should be able to narrow down the search by entering audiobook: followed by the name of the author in the search bar. Keep in mind that you also need to add a dash between each name. In your case, you can try entering audiobook:will-thomas and give it a quick search 🙂

Also, the feature to go to a specific author profile and view all their books currently isn't available. However, feel free to create an idea for this. We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.

Hi Maria-

Thanks for trying to help. I tried just that search, and it gave me a ton of results that had nothing to do with Will Thomas' books and absolutely no useful way to find out if the title I'm looking for is even available (some of his books do show up-in no comprehensible order and no way to sort at all-and no way to know if there are any more of his books somewhere deeper in the never ending and irrelevant list of other "results"). Sorry for the frustration I'm expressing, this is just tremendously disappointing. I struggle to believe that an otherwise great platform cannot implement this very basic feature (as the site already has with music artists) and that every other audiobook source I've ever used (Audible, Libby, amazon) have had for years. Really seems like the other audiobook sites have a significant advantage over Spotify and will retain a ton of business until/if Spotify can rectify this. I really hope this is offered soon. I tried the "create an idea" link, and it says I'm not authorized.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We hear you and we understand that a more detailed search feature would be helpful.

Could you give the Ideas page another shot if you still like to submit the Idea? Just note that sometimes new submissions are temporarily paused due to a high amount of new Ideas to review. We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.
