Does skipping to the last five seconds of a song count as a play?

Does skipping to the last five seconds of a song count as a play?

Hi, I was wondering if when we skip to the last five seconds of a song, directly when it comes on, and then wait until the next song comes on, count as a play? Thank you!

Hey @user-removed

That's quite an interesting question, honestly!

What I know is that when you play at least 30 seconds of a song, it will be counted as a play. There are many songs shorter than 30 seconds and their 'play count' is suspiciously small compared to others in the same album.. which means that if you play a song less than 30 seconds long, it won't be counted as a play.
I think the same would apply to playing a long song from whatever part of it. 🙂

Sadly I can't think of any ways to register this... I have last.fm, but this service won't even bother registering the playback of last 5 seconds of any song... It also has the 30+ seconds long limit for a song, but it works a little differently...

Have a nice day; feel free to ask more questions!
