How can I disable PFC (AI generated content)?

Solved!

How can I disable PFC (AI generated content)?

I'm very much against having AI generated music inserted into my playlists, what Spotify calls PFC. Is there a way to disable this?

Hi @BomberBobB,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

Unfortunately, there isn’t a currently a way to prevent AI-generated "music" from showing up in playlists, such as those that are Made for you by Spotify.

However, there's a relevant Live Idea in the Idea Exchange for marking AI-generated songs as such and being able to filter them out entirely. If it’s something you’re interested in, I’d recommend adding your +VOTE to the idea. The more votes an idea gets, the likelier it is that Spotify will implement it, and you can read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here.

Feel free to also Subscribe to the idea by clicking the three dots next to its title; that way, you can be sure to be informed of any relevant updates.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

Hi, you may really lose clients by not permitting users to filter PFC. Just in my friends and colleagues there is a dozen of angry clients, and some already closed there accounts...

**bleep** Spotify and your inability to hide AI content despite millions of users wanting this functionality.

Having to ID the songs to avoid playing them is not a solution. I like the Spotify generated Playlists but will not use that feature if you're going to insert this and make me hunt it down to remove it.

AI generated music is a complete abomination to human artistry. I like Spotify however I am extremely disappointed in their willingness to allow this abomination to continue. Clearly mark all AI generated music and give users the ability to toggle off any AI generated content.

They will just get more listeners to AI. People aren't that astute, and more importantly are that lazy.

Honestly Spottify just doesn't care about their customers by letting AI music proliferate on their platform. It's not new, it's not unique to this platform when you see how Meta, Microsoft, Adobe, DeviantArt, Artstation, Epic...etc dealt with this matter. They all want to put AI down our throats while most of us don't want/need it in the first place. They act like they brought us a solution to a problem. When did we crave for MORE content when we have not enough of a lifetime to enjoy just a fragment of what human art got produced ? This should not mean to push for a self-serviced content, cause this would force individuals to close their minds and it's bad for everyone in the end.
And apart from that, Spottify is just a music player. It's not a music composing application, it's not a game engine, it's not a complex program. So why good design takes so much time to come ? Because they're only obsessed with stupid decisions. Because, they see AI as a way to make more profit and because they have other interests than making just a good music player. We've had some clues about that recently, it's certainly not profitable in the end to the customer. This is also the kind of move that makes me want to go back to good old technologies where I own real stuff made by real humans who cared for their craft and served us actually good music. It's stupid in one sense, because of course, having access to such a lot of musics and being able to discover what humankind creates almost in realtime is magic. But AI runied it. AI devaluates spottify and makes progressively all users leaves that sinking boat

Deezer now tag AI content. I am going to test it and consider moving. I'd rather not, but am really against AI slop ripping off people's hard work and voting with your wallet is the most effective way to get companies to listen.

I really hate that it isn't labeled because I was completely fooled when I had a song that I opened in Spotify after Shazam-ing it and spotify automatically went into the "suggested songs" mode after playing the song that I Shazam-ed. Little did I know, the first 3 songs, and there were probably more that were going to play, were all AI generated after I looked into the "bands". The thing that REALLY sucks is that I actually like the songs....... Sure there's some tell-tale signs that you can hear when listening on higher quality sound systems (I couldn't tell when listening originally in a rental with crappy speakers) like the somewhat laid back guitars at a slightly lower volume than what would feel natural when it's labeled as a metalcore band... But what gets me is the vocals....... How is AI able to replicate EXTREMELY realistic vocals like that???? And the pacing, lyrics, everything works together and makes a pretty good song.... I just hate that it's not a real band...... How long until bands start making covers of AI songs, that's gonna be a weird thing to see but I could see it happening.
