My Question or Issue

Every time I open spotify I get greeted by this friendly lady on the cover of the playlist "Gently Mouthing you ASMR". I opened this playlist "ONCE". Additionally I get more recommendations for another ASMR playlist I opened once.. If I was listening to this kind of thing more often I would understand but the only reason I opened them in the first place was because Spotify kept throwing them in my face.

Spotify does not give me an option to remove this suggestion from this page and she's been there for more than a month already..

Every time I open Spotify at work I have to look behind my shoulder because of this unnecessary explicit content.

Even if it was a normal playlist, Spotify should give me the option to remove it from these suggestions no?!?

besides the suggestions are absolutely useless, Spotify is tryng hard to make us listen to podcast. (because they make lots of money with them),

ok, clearly Spotify doesn't want to do anything about it.

I will cancel my family subscription as I have the same problem and on my carplay there is a playlist which I listened to for 5 minutes and now it's in my Good morning list... on all my devices... I do not want it there... should be removeable

ok, going for Apple One then... Bye Spotify... your pushing users with simple things like this to the competition!

I'm canceling Spotify over this issue. Absolutely ridiculous that this is even an issue.

I just listened to a song for 10sec and its on my good morning for months now. Every feature i wanted is in their "todo" list even with many votes. They don't do anything. Will be removing spotify as well.

AGREED... Write it down Spotify. The more you restrict and control what we see, the more **bleep** your clients will be... this is absolutely stupid! The fact that we listen to 10 seconds of something and are then stuck with it for weeks is ridiculous. Try thinking out of the box.

Instead of sending us to a page to request from the Spotify Gods to please hear our pitiful cries to let us have a smidgen of control over our experience ... how about you make a small change to the algorithm to weight the Good Morning section to consider listening time. None of the **bleep** on my Good Morning list should be there compared to almost anything else I listen to.

And yes this rant is brought to you by a Premium Member since 2012 and a Family Premium Member since is was available.

I am currently having my family move their saved music and playlists to other platforms... you know the ones that let us control our experience.

I got rid of the playlist in my "GoodMorning* section by reporting it a few times. Once because it had explicit content, and once because" I just didn't like it". It's a stupid, Karen way to get it done, but until Spotify actually allows us to remove suggestions manually, just keep reporting offensive podcasts or playlists to make them go away. Tough on the creator, but it's the price they pay when it's forced on me.

Thanks for the heads-up and good advice!

I ended up looking for this after trying out a **bleep** education podcast.

I may have a solution. I ended up going to some more sane random podcasts and shows and hearing them for a couple of minutes. Although it didn't immediately reflect, I can now see that explicit podcast has left my suggestions list.

Give it a try. Wait for a day or two.

Thanks for the kinds response. Will try that.

i found that if you press and hold on the offending track (episode) on the good morning page, you can then choose to express "not interested in this episode" and it will disappear for 90 days.

I just signed up for premium.  Had no idea I couldn’t control the feed/suggestions.  I have four school aged children, and the last thing they need to see is a podcast suggestion for some thing called “WHOREable Decisions”.  Seeing as how this topic has been alive for a long time and Spotify has no intention of fixing it, I’m canceling immediately.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what’s happening.  **bleep** sells.  They are preying on weaknesses of human nature for profit.  Makes me sick.  Off to find a better place for my money.

Please let me remove suggestions and mixes etc. This is going to be a deal breaker soon. At least add it to Spotify Premium.

This is so damn frustrating I have to see the face of my ex on a playlist I haven’t listened to in almost a year every time I open the app. The suggestions are shite. At least let me remove the playlist from that page. Ffs

I have the exact same issue. There's an album I hate and accidentally played once, that has somehow overpowered every  single thing that's actually something I want to listen to. The worst part? It probably won't be fixed. The idea was changed to "Not right now" status in 2020, and there's no way in heaven or **bleep** that they will actually go through with this. If Apple Music ever offers a free tier, I will switch over in a heartbeat.

The fact that it's almost 2023 and still NOTHING happened is infuriating.

Also that I got rudely interrupted WHILE typing this by a "do you like spotify" makes me want to click "no" so much.

Heeeellooooo ... Spotifyyyyyy  ... ?!?!

Is anyone from Spotify development here reading all the comments above?

"Remove suggestion from Good Morning list" shouldn't be an optional feature for which we have to vote and hope that someone from Spotify will accept our prayers. That MUST be a standard feature. You simply have to accept that we can't agree with all the playlist/podcasts/... suggestions we get from Spotify and that also sometimes we click on something by mistake or just out of curiosity. But currently some of those not planned clicks finish as something what you push us for years on the Good Morning list without any chance to dislike it and to remove it.

I know, it's easier to collect the money and do nothing, but other similar streaming services which consider user experience will bury you soon if you don't act and listen to your customers. I just accepted a promo offer for 3 months of premium to try your service, but believe me, I'll cancel it for sure before those 3 months expire if I continue to see "Serbian mix" everyday in my Good Morning list without option to remove it.

I see you have no intention of removing suggestions from the Good Morning list, so I'll be moving elsewhere. Such a lousy customer experience, I really have no words for not being to control my homepage for a paying subscription. There are other services out there that allow full customization, so they'll be getting my money.

Coming from the future to say this still has not been implemented.
In my case, something I have never interacted with (no one has my phone or computer ever either) has been suggested everyday in every part of the day for me to listen. What is it? A children's story podcast that has one episode released in 2018. It is infuriating that I cannot remove this in any way.

I have retired Spotify as my primary music app due to this issue alone! 10 years at an average of 50,000+ minutes per year… it was a good run Spotify!.. till you hired goldfish for your UI developers.

I don't want to see audiobook recommendations on my Page, or I personalize and edit my Page recommendations first
