My Question or Issue:

Hi everyone.

I can't seem to be able to find the New Releases feature, which was one of my absolute favourites, and a bit of a deal breaker for me. I hope its something temporary or a mistake in my part or something.

I can only find something similar to it in the Classical music section "Novedades Clásicas" (the oldest was from 2024, so it was kind of ok).

On the other hand, there are such lists as "Descubrimiento semanal" y "Radar de Novedades", but the are just lists of artists I already follow (at least most of them, I couldn't check them all), which to me defeats the purpose of this feature, which is to find new artists to follow.

And then, there was this selection of albums called "Novedades Escogidas Cuidadosamente", which made me think it would at least be from artists that the algorithm thinks I might like, but not even so: between 90 and 95% was reggaeton and trap music which I ALMOST NEVER listen to, because I don't like it at all. Plus there were some albums like Nibiru (by Ozuna) which were from 2019!! So they weren't even "Novedades" to begin with!

This is such a disappointment for me that if this feature is not here any longer, I will be sadly forced to  think about migrating to other services. I am just asking for the full list of new releases so I can, on one hand, be able to listen to some of the new stuff and "take the pulse" of the music releases scene, discover new artists, etc. And  on the other hand, be updated and knowledgeable, having the possibility of listening to them, so I can be able to recomend music to my clients (I work in a store that sells vynils and CDs, so this is also important for me).

Plus, the beauty of Spotify (at least to me) is to be able to find music out of the mainstream because I find lists like "Éxitos del 2025" or "Top 100 España" to be absolutely boring. Music is so vast, so full of awesome styles and genres... that just listen to the top ranked songs would be limiting myself to just "one or two flavours", which to me is just very sad. And, to be honest, I don't want to pay for it. If I wanted to listen just to mainstream stuff I'd just turn the FM radio on.

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi there @Cmcasadoiro,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to give you some pointers on how to enhance your journey of musical discovery.

Firstly, there are several places where new releases can be found and where you can find recommendations. Consider checking out the following:

  • If you click to filter "Music" at the top of the home page, you will have the various recommendations based on what you listen to, including the New Releases section you're looking for
  • If you go to the Search and then the Discover section, you can find many such playlists made for you such as Discover Weekly, Release Radar and more. You can find info about what each one contains and where to find them here.
  • Under the Search, you can also find another separate New Releases section

Regarding the algorithm and its recommendations, these are based on what you listen to, the songs you like, the ones you add to playlists, etc. However, it also includes other different recommendations. A lot of this is also influenced by what is popular in the country you are in, which can explain some of the things you mentioned seeing. In general, the more you engage with the music you like, the more it will adapt and give you better and better recommendations.

As for the vastness of music, I absolutely agree! The sheer quantity and variety of music out there is part of the fun in exploring new things. Besides the aforementioned features, consider checking out the Chat section here in the Community. In particular the Music Exchange and Music Discussion boards are all about sharing and talking about music with other passionate users like yourself, in particular relating to lesser known and more obscure music worthy of additional attention.

Hope this clears things up. Let us know if there's anything else we can assist you with.
