Option to disable Made for you feature

Solved!

Option to disable Made for you feature

The 'made for you' feature being an automatic feature on so many playlists is just meaning every single playlist sounds the same and has the same songs in it!

The reason I want to listen to a different playlist is because I want new music not to be pushed the exact same songs I am already listening to - half of them don't even match the genre.

An option to disable this feature and just listen to the default Spotify version would be really useful as it is getting really tedious.

Also sometimes you listen to a playlist with someone else and your like oh I really like these tracks they share the playlist and then it's all different because you are logged in. Seems to defeat the object of a playlist.

I’ve noticed over the past couple years and I am OVER ITTTTTT. Spotify used to have a lot of great options to discover new music, which is one reason I liked it so much - now all the recommended music is stuff I already listen to ☹️

there is a playlist made for you on my spotify called daily mix 1 artists/bands not related to anything i listen to. music from the 60's and 70's. artists like the carpenters and bee gees. dance music is my genre. not country, rock or pop it always comes up as soon as i open spotify on my laptop on the right hand side of the screen. not happy

This is absolutely insane. It has been going on more than a year and has completely ruined my Spotify experience. Has anyone moved to another provider? Looking for options now as it seems Spotify won't be changing this any time soon.

I think removing that persons post from suggestions is pretty invalidating considering sooooo many people are echoing the same sentiment. Most of the posts here are saying the exact same thing - we dislike the AI created made for you playlists (& don’t even play like they’re not AI created, we’re not oblivious). I think over time spotify will lose subscribers because of this. I would rather pay more money for a different streaming service that’s not going to feed me the exact same music over and over, and I’m sure other people feel the same. This is not a help ask - it is a suggestion.

Can we just agree on a disable feature for the "made for you" option?

They wont change that because, with this method, they (think) could manage our musical tastes according to their conveniences. I had spotify since 2016 and im considering moving into another, such youtube premium.

Wow, what a polite way to say "f*** off, we'll keep shoving AI slop down your throat whether you want it or not."   All for the privilege of paying more.

No, really. Thank you Spotify for pushing me further towards cancelling a platform that free Pandora Radio can do better 😒

Agree completely!  This is very annoying, too many Made For You playlists, I want to turn this feature off and explore new music without hearing all my "liked songs" mixed in.

This is not a solution. I mainly access Spotify through my smart speaker and can't Access any of these recommended features this way. I want to disable this feature so I don't get any made for you playlists when I use my smart speaker. For the love of God I'm tired of hearing the same songs over and over.

I found this forum searching on Google for, "How to disable made for you playlists on Spotify." I guess I'll be leaving for Apple Music.

My Question or Issue how to get rid of new music Friday and other ai recommendation- you keep cluttering the interface with so much stuff that you think I should listen to you’re ruining it. I hate your choices. I don’t want it

This issue is not solved and has gotten worse; now even Radio forces you to have Made For You applied; so out of touch with what users want - probably going to cancel since this has been raised for years and Spotify has not cared about this feedback.

Hi - unfortunately this is not a solution. Please listen to your user base, overwhelmingly people are seriously unhappy with the algorithm. When I listen to a "Radio" for a song, I want to hear similar songs and genres. When I listen to a particular playlist, I want a consistent theme or vibe. The "Made for you" playlists are absolutely horrendous and have ruined the user experience. I immediately have to ignore any playlist that I see the "Made for you" logo on, because it inevitably has the same 25 songs in an echo chamber just based on my recent listening history, regardless of genre, artist category, vibe, etc. If you're committed to the terrible song selection algorithm, please at least give us an option to turn off "Made for you", or a better way to filter for playlist that do not incorporate this AI approach.

Ericgj14, you expressed the problem perfectly, thank you.

Agree! I always skip the Made for You because it’s all the same songs.

Please provide a means to disable "Made For You", it has no value for me.

I’m not sure why this is marked as the solution, it certainly isn’t for me. I don’t want this feature, as a subscriber I want to find and listen to music my own way. Adding the ability to disable this functionality just gives a better user experience, at the end of the day who is this feature for, Spotify or its customers?

I don’t want you choosing my music for me, and I don’t need or want your suggestions, just let me enjoy music my own way!

I'm thinking of switching to Apple Music simply because of this. Even the suggestion the Mod shared, going to a Song/Artist's Radio, is now showing "Made for ..." and is repeating a lot of the songs I have previously heard. Doing a free trial on other services, there's a TON of music out there that I enjoy listening to but haven't found because of this feature.

I've started a free trial on Apple - shocked at how many new artists/songs I found that I enjoyed listening to. I'm more familiar with the Spotify UI, so if this were fixed, I wouldn't consider switching at all.
