The 'made for you' feature being an automatic feature on so many playlists is just meaning every single playlist sounds the same and has the same songs in it!
The reason I want to listen to a different playlist is because I want new music not to be pushed the exact same songs I am already listening to - half of them don't even match the genre.
An option to disable this feature and just listen to the default Spotify version would be really useful as it is getting really tedious.
Also sometimes you listen to a playlist with someone else and your like oh I really like these tracks they share the playlist and then it's all different because you are logged in. Seems to defeat the object of a playlist.

I completely agree. I’ve been on Spotify since 2009. The entire draw is listening to new music in curated playlists. The lazy “made for you” mixes all sound the same. I don’t need a program to listen to more of what I am already listening to. I want to have access to thoughtful curated lists made by stakeholders of the business. I think I’m going to leave Spotify after all of this time because of it. It’s a shame to see such a great service turn into this.
This isn't true. I go to search for a band and the 'radio' feature is a few of that bands songs with songs I've already listened to and which do not in any way match the genre or vibe of the band I entered. I like a band. I want to find music I don't know about already that is similar to that band. Not stuff from playlists in my library I already can play anytime I want. This 'feature' is AWFUL unless there's a way to toggle it off.
Can "made for you" be turned off? When I search for playlists now, the original "Spotify" branded ones are all gone and all I'm offered are ones made by others or the ones made for you. I have eclectic music tastes, so hearing movie soundtracks in a "gym workout" is absolutely baffling.
I'm having the same issue. It seems to be getting worse. One day all of my daily mixes had "Midnight City" by M83 even the rap mix. How does that happen? I try to find user created playlists but they are buried among the Made for "me" playlists that have the same songs on repeat.
Another voice asking for an option to turn off the "Made for you" mixes. I just did a search and of the 16 hits, 7 were AI created slop. Not everything needs to be AI.
Still having this same issue in August 2025! I want to discover new music and expand my listening taste, but it's really hard to do that when every other playlist is a "made for you," which means it just recycles my listening history instead of reading the genre. For example, I wanted to listen to Doechii radio, which you offered as a solution to this issue. It is not a solution, bc upon clicking on Doechii radio I got the "made for you" tag in it, and it included artists like Addison Rae, MARINA, Suki Waterhouse, Renee Rapp, etc. None of those artists are similar to Doechii in style, and I clicked Doechii radio specifically trying to listen to different kinds of music.
