Rivers Cuomo 'About' page is the most confusing thing ever. Is that on purpose?

Was listening to some random thing earlier and noticed Rivers Cuomo (Weezer) was a guest artist, so I clicked his name to see what solo stuff he has done and decided to check his bio.

According to the bio, he is "An American rapper of Mexican descent from Redlands, California. His stage name is derived from the name of the prescription drug Xanax. Cuomo was born on September 6, 1996 in Redlands, California... He was a street cleaner and sold drugs before he began rapping.." - I'll let you finish reading it if you feel inclined to. He also apparently gave Tupac a 2/10 rating and said he was boring.. The pictures are Rivers from Weezer, and the music is definitely him. Soo...

I find it pretty impressive that Weezers first album was released a full two years before this Rivers Cuomo was born. I also find it highly interesting that he was not, in fact, born in Connecticut, and his name is actually a stage name derived from Xanax, a drug which has neither the word 'Rivers' or 'Cuomo' associated with it.

Anyone know if he put that up there on purpose? Am I the one on drugs? Is there actually some rapper with that name that I cant find?

Sorry for the thread necromancy.  After a little more digging (the weezer subreddit) it seems that this is understood to be a joke for the benefit of the weezer community.
