Sexual Content Report Form does not work

Sexual Content Report Form does not work

This is an ongoing issue, with the "Report Sexual Content" form. There is a nascent community on Spotify that is dedicated to posting pornography through various means. User playlist images, podcast videos, and podcast "clips" only viewable on mobile are the three main ways.
Edit: Two new ways are being used now. Semi-transparent explicit video and explicit videos in the corners of otherwise normal podcasts.

Here are some examples of the offending content
https://open.spotify.com/show/4qi0GvpRnpP2RNKDPtCS7k?si=fc0428cf84e34704

https://open.spotify.com/show/2eZt6s6OaCoWdMxKMikJNd?si=73f31d60806c48b4

Look through the comments on many of these podcasts and you will see a slough of people, many of them underage, begging for more of these explicit podcasts. This entire thing needs to be moderated heavily to stamp out this kind of wretchedness from the platform.

When trying to report these things through the sexual content report form, I get the link, formatted as the ones posted above, and past it into the field at the top of the form. Then it is automatically converted to the following format:
spotify:show:2W7X0vq1WyGAZjcQJ704sR

The error "URL not supported" shows up at that moment and I am not able to complete the report.

I have tried the report form in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari on iOS. I have tried copying the link from desktop, mobile, and web browser. The same issues happen.
These people need to have their content removed.

When copying on desktop holding control it copies the link in the spotify: format directly, but it still gives the same "URL Not Supported" Error.

Hey @An_Oblivion,

Thank you for letting us know about this content and the form malfunction.
We'll go ahead and report these from our end and we'll make sure the form gets looked into as well 🙂

The Community is here for you if there's anything else in the meantime.

Thank you for the response, I have edited the original post to show how it looks when trying to use the sexual content report form on both mobile and desktop. Here is another podcast that needs to be dealt with as well.

Here is another one, this is by a repeat offender from the initial post I made. The pornographic content is in the "clips" only viewable on mobile. This content needs to be removed, and the report form still does not function as it should.

Hey @An_Oblivion,

Thanks for your reply!

We took a look at the screenshots from the report form you provided and spotted a couple of potential causes for these errors you were receiving. Since the form requires a URI to the content itself, inputting the URI to the user profile would definitely trigger an error. For the screenshot with a correct URI to a show (spotify:show:4qEHLDt3HxWcpAKkEblmcl), we tested this out with the same URI and it seems like the content has already been taken down and that's why you weren't able to report it.

Could you give this another shot here by selecting Sexual content from the list? Just make sure to provide the URI to the content itself. Even if you put in the whole URL instead, it should be formatted into a URI, but in case you get any errors, try using an incognito window and clearing your browser's cache and cookies.

Let us know how it goes.

Here is a screenshot of me trying to report the podcast I linked yesterday, which is still up and still posting pornographic clips. The screenshots I took were from a few weeks ago, trying to report podcasts that have since been taken down. Usually how I report things now is by using the "Contact Us" link in the report section and sending the links in here. Here are all the things I have tried to get the report form to function properly.

1. Using Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and Safari on iOS

2. Incognito Mode

3. Deleting the browser cache for spotify.com

4. Reporting when logged in to my Spotify account and logged out of my spotify account

5. Copying the link from Desktop, mobile, and web versions of spotify

6. Typing out the URL instead of copy and paste

All of these have returned the same error "This type of URL is not supported"

Hey there @An_Oblivion,

Thanks for the reply and for the screenshot shared.

We really appreciate the time you took to try again and for sending us this detailed info. We've gone ahead and passed this important info on to the right team.

If perhaps you encounter any other content that needs to be reported, we'd recommend trying putting the URI as mentioned by @Dessi above. if the errors within the report form continue, you can share here the URI and we can raise it.

We'll be around!

Here is the most recent wave of pornographic podcast distribution. This time they are using a different strategy, by making the explicit video transparent and layering it above another video.

Here is the podcast doing this:

https://open.spotify.com/show/2UlKm0DUpa4Hpf4aFrg4FL?si=8455d92c45f34f79

https://open.spotify.com/episode/2jJuGTQachWmyuztVczC0Z?si=2bfdd3a369b24f25

The explicit video is layered over the normal video until around 4:00 into the episode.

The report form still does not work for me, so I will continue to post about the problem here. I have included a screenshot of the offending content, and censored it.

Hey again @An_Oblivion,

We really appreciate you sending over this content and we've reported it from our end. The report form not working issue is also being looked into by the relevant team.

Should you come across any other inappropriate content or need assistance with anything else, we're here.

Here is another one, this podcast is doing things a bit different as well. Starting at around 2:35 of the podcast episode, in the bottom right corner of the screen the explicit video starts to play.

https://open.spotify.com/show/3DG9otSAsgP9EbeKD3thYX?si=7e0fc8220cd84c66

https://open.spotify.com/episode/4V6yFs6oi5JbKHZV86yGmR?si=16119a10158a42ff

This podcast needs to be removed as soon as possible, since if it stays up people will start to copy it.

These ones use the "clips" method discussed before.
https://open.spotify.com/show/1I3pZtTNZgjKJIs2acFK0F?si=608b7cf103a44b33

This is a new podcast following the same mould as some of the previous ones I notified you of.

https://open.spotify.com/show/7GBF2tQGQFsEQOUeDjgbTF?si=9f77aefe95404cc6

The podcast puts the explicit videos in the "clips" only viewable on mobile. This one is quite prolific, posting dozens of videos each day. The whole thing needs to be removed permanently.
