Why Do Some Songs Disappear from Spotify Playlists?

Why Do Some Songs Disappear from Spotify Playlists?

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that some songs I added to my Spotify playlists suddenly disappear or become unplayable. It’s frustrating, especially when I’ve curated a list for a specific mood or event.

Does anyone know why songs get removed from Spotify? Is it due to licensing issues, regional restrictions, or something else? Also, is there any way to get notified when a song is about to be removed so I can find an alternative before it disappears?

I’m a concrete contractor based in Ann Arbor, MI. If you’re interested, you can find more details on my work here: https://www.concretecontractorsannarbormichigan.com/.Thanks for any help!

Hey @EthanHopkins, thanks for asking in the Community! 🎵

You are correct about the reasons. The copyright owners decide to keep their content or make it unavailable in certain regions. Once the licensing deals are back in place, you can find those songs again in the app.

As of now, there is no feature to get notified about these changes. For more info, see Missing Music or Podcasts.

Let me know if you need help with anything else. 🙂
