Why albums on Spotify are "different"?

Why albums on Spotify are "different"?

Hello Spotify and everybody who is watching this!

I am a new user because Spotify has recently been launched on my country and I have 9 days since I have opened an account on Spotify. The point is that firstly, it looked amazing and everything was normal. But two days before I guess, something was strange. SPOTIFY WAS MIXING UP SONGS IN THE ALBUMS !!!!!!! Since then, I've been searching on the internet for a solution but nothing. Maybe you are not understanding me so let me tell it this way.

I want to listen to an album, for example Map Of The Soul: 7 by BTS. Before, I could listen to the songs normally ( in the order how they actually are in the album ). But now it isn't like it used to be! It shows only some of the songs in an order with some dots and most the songs are not even at that album.

Like this :

Stay Gold • Euphoria • Your Eyes Tell • Make It Right • Fake Love etc.

I'm an Android user and I am not sure if this happens only in Android phones, but when I opened Spotify online on my laptop, songs appear "normally" but not on my phone. I think this is related to the new update or something, but I beg you to change this! This doesn't only appear to BTS albums but to every album and playlist I make!

Please please please fix this because I don't want to listen to other songs that are not included in the album.

Thank you for your patience! I hope to get a positive response.

Hey there @Migen123,

Welcome to the Community!

When you create a new free account on Spotify, the first 7 days you get our first trial and your account functions almost as a Premium one for the week. This means you can play songs on demand and listen to the tracks in albums in sequence.

After this initial 7 day period is over you can only listen to albums in shuffle mode and cannot play songs on demand. We have some special playlists where there are songs you can play whenever you want - they are the ones without the shuffle icon  before their name, for example the Daily mixes.

On the desktop version you can play any song directly even with a free account. Using the desktop app you can rearrange the order of the songs in a playlist.

You can always try Premium, the first month is free of charge and you can cancel anytime.

Hope this helps. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to reach out again.

Have a great day!

Hello, I have been having the same problem with Taylor Swift’s albums. I have the all added however, when I was listening to the reputation album it started playing a song from the Fearless album. I then looked at all of her other albums I have from her and all the songs from different albums are in them and I don’t know how to fix it. I have to admit I’ve started using Apple Music more because this issue really annoys me, however I prefer the layout of Spotify but this happens with every album I have added.

Here is a screen shot, I don’t know how to fix it
