Will Spotify ever allow parents to disable all video content through Parental Controls?

Solved!

Will Spotify ever allow parents to disable all video content through Parental Controls?

I've always found the parental control options in Spotify pretty lacking (if I don't want to use Kids Mode which is just horrible) but this has only been amplified by Spotify's recent push to video content. Both of my kids have phones that are locked down very tight precisely so they aren't mindlessly watching things like Youtube in their free time but I would like them to have access to music (with guidance). But the difficulties I've had getting Spotify to just be a music platform and not a video platform for my kids has made this untenable. Please tell me they are looking into more specific content controls for parents in the future, especially for all the video garbage that I can't seem to turn off over Wi-Fi with a simple click.

Hey @1ruperto1, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Spotify has released a parental guide that I recommend checking out which highlights information about parental controls and child safety with using Spotify. You can check it out here

You can also check out this support page to learn more about the Spotify Kids app. I will also make sure to pass your feedback on to the right folks, and any updates that Spotify releases regarding the Spotify Kids app — you can check it out here

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I mentioned that kids mode specifically is terrible. It's too restrictive. This doesn't help at all and I'm not sure you actually read my question. I would like my kids to largely be able to be able to curate their own playlists and actually discover music. I just want them to be able to do this without having video force fed to them as a distraction and advertising tool. I understand why Spotify pushes this garbage to me but I want my kids to use Spotify as a music service. I don't know why I can't just turn video content off across their devices. I know KIds Mode exists. It sucks. That's a whole other issue. There has to be a middleman between the almost no freedom of that mode and the very limited parental control options for parents who *mostly* want their kids to be able to use the service like a normal person.
