[iOS][Your Library] Add lyrics to all songs

I know it was just added and is probably still in development, but it would be amazing if all albums and all songs had lyrics. For example, Apple Music has lyrics prepared before an album drops so that when the album is released users can read the lyrics on the platform while they listen. Every song on Spotify having lyrics would make the feature way more enjoyable and convenient. Thanks for considering this!

If something is wrong with the lyrics or the syncing, or lyrics are missing, you can go to the Musixmatch app or website and create an account to help fix it. Musixmatch is the partner Spotify is using to show the lyrics. It's community ran, so the more people that contribute the better. Artists and labels can create an account to submit and manage their lyrics directly as well, so it should get better over time.

Once the changes are made at Musixmatch, it takes about a week for the changes to show up in the Spotify app.

Spotify is currently working to make these changes appear in the app faster.

@MattSuda thank you so much for clarifying that for me! I will definitely be downloading that app and adding lyrics to songs that are missing them. I really appreciate your reply. I love the lyric feature and can’t wait to watch it evolve.

I'm hoping to see more artists get involved and submit their own lyrics. Artists know their lyrics the best. But I also like that the Musixmatch community can step in and help as well. And I'm looking forward to the changes Spotify makes to get the changes to show up in the app faster.

@MattSuda me too! it’s gonna be interesting to see how this all works out. Quick question- am I able to add lyrics to songs on musixmatch or is that something only subscribers are able to do?

I've only contributed a few times on Musixmatch so I am not sure how it works currently. I've seen a few comments from people saying they couldn't add lyrics. I think you have to have a higher rank in the Musixmatch community to directly add new lyrics. You can start by suggesting smaller corrections. Usually most changes are checked and if other users agree with the change then it's accepted.

From what I can see the premium subscription is only for using Musixmatch desktop or mobile apps if you want more features. It doesn't give you any benefits for the community side.
