My Question or Issue

How can I disable hardware acceleration of graphics? I use spotify for listening to music and I don't want it to hog GPU resources. Lately I have noticed segfaults in my GPU driver (libnvidia-glcore.so.430.26) and I think they correlated with some horrible GPU freezes I had. I want to rule out spotify by disabling hardware acceleration, maybe there is a command line flag?

Thank you

same here

I'm having the same issue. Other systems allow disabling through settings or the supermenu but I can't find the setting anywhere in spotify.

In my case, hardware acceleration is causing text rendering issues.

you can run spotify with

spotify --disable-gpu

and that will do the trick
