My Question or Issue
Lossless audio seems to be missing on the flatpak spotify version. I've got it on my IOS and windows 10 device, though not on my linux machine.
When can we expect an update?
Thanks!
Just noticed that I can listen at lossless audio quality in my Linux Spotify client too. *The client version didn't change*. It looks like Client version 1.2.63.394.g126b0d89 from the 19th of May 2025 is still be the latest version from the official debian repository (flathub and AUR as well), but lossless works for me!
I just killed my spotify session (killall spotify) (installed from the rpm-fusion repos so is an rpm version) and restarted it, and now I have losless as an option (fedora 42)
did not have to update software in anyway just restart
Yep mine works too! We don't have the same issues Windows has been having with loseless, right?
Yes, If you configure your system the correct way: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PipeWire#Sound_Quality
Interesting.
I'm seeing the option to swap my audio quality to lossless, but on Windows there's usually a small indicator in the bottom left to show you're running lossless - not currently seeing that on the flatpak.
Version: 1.2.63.394.g126b0d89
I confirm that flatpak version actually supports lossless!
Now im waiting for deb version as well.
It should work with deb too. Just give it a try.
Thanks, I tried deb version but still i don't see lossless there.
Latest version of `spotify-client` on official repository (https://www.spotify.com/jp/download/linux/) is `1:1.2.63.394.g126b0d89`, I guess it is outdated?
Edit: I really don't understand, but repeated close and open multiple times then I see lossless option finally. I desubbed spotify until this resolved, now I sub again!
