Spotify doesn 't start after upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04

Regular

After my upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04, Spotify doesn 't start up anymore. Nothing visible happens after 'clicking' on the application icon.

I have tried to install Spotify again, but that doesn't work because the mesaage is that it already has bene installed.

Who can help me out?

TIA,

Theo

Ah. Did you try running the commands as root using sudo?

Does removing Spotify's config and cache files make any difference (it will recreate them on start):
rm -r ~/.cache/spotify
rm -r ~/.config/spotify

Can you try starting Spotify from a terminal window (just enter 'spotify' and press enter) and see if any error messages are logged on the console?

Didn't help. This was the message

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libudev1 is already the newest version.
libudev1 set to manually installed.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 12 not upgraded.

It might be worth linking libudev1 to libudev0?

Ay, I am afraid the link you have send is a bit to difficult to understand for a Ubuntu dummy like me ;-;

Do you mind to give me the exact text I should use in the terminal ?

Hmm, libudev.so.0 is not available in any package for Ubuntu 13.10 either, according to packages.ubuntu.com, but Spotify works there. Haven't tried 14.04 yet, but will install it in a VM soon.
