Spotify starts repeating the same track endlessly

My Question or Issue

Lately, the Spotify desktop client (Ubuntu Linux) will play a playlist fine for a few hours, then the queue will fill with the same thumbnail. Sometimes when this happens it will play the correct upcoming tracks, but usually it will play the pictured track repeatedly until the application is exited and restarted.

The application version is 1.2.42.290.g242057a2, installed from a deb package (not the snap).

Some additional information:

• It's happening more frequently, and sometimes faster: I just shutdown the app and restarted because of this problem, and the problem re-appeared within about 10 tracks
• This seems to only happen on playlists that are shuffled... I've played non-shuffle lists for hours without any tracks getting mixed up
• In fact, it's really only happened on one specific playlist, but that list is 10 1/2 hours long with 142 tracks

I'd really like to hear back from someone on this. I pay for a Premium sub for both my wife and I, and being able to use this on my desktop while working is pretty important to me...
