My Question or Issue
I have Spotify desktop running on my arch Linux and win10 system. Since today the Home page started to throw the error "Oops, something went wrong!" on both systems. In an attempt to fix the issue I tried switching from the AUR version to the Flatpak, but to no success. As I did not manage to identify any issues in the cli when running either version from it, and me not knowing how to properly debug win10 I decided to open the web-player. The error also exists here (Browser: Brave (chromium-based)). After having a quick look at the console I noticed two 500 (Internal Server Error) messages linked to the URLs:
1) https://api.spotify.com/v1/views/personalized-recommendations?timestamp=2021-09-16T22%3A17%3A26.840Z...
2) https://api.spotify.com/v1/me/episodes?limit=1&offset=0&market=from_token
To make sure none of Brave's privacy features were interfering with the site I then opened it up in Firefox, which had the exact same issue.
My android 11 Device (CalyxOS, latest) works, as far as I can tell, perfectly fine.
Solved! Go to Solution.
It appears to have fixed itself (or the backend got fixed), the error is gone and the console looks good aswell.
