[Desktop][Mac] Menu Bar Controls Not Working!

[Desktop][Mac] Menu Bar Controls Not Working!

Plan: Premium

Country: India

Device: Macbook Air M1 2020; MacOS Monterey 12.3

This issue involves the non operation of the buttons on the Currently Playing Menu Bar popout. The play/pause, next/previous song buttons only work sometimes. When I pause the song by clicking the pause button it doesn't change its icon and when I want to restart it then I've got to go to the app because the popout does not work.

It often shows the 'Spotify can't play this song...' error prompt even though it's playing. It's highly irritating because I can't use my physical buttons because it plays some random YouTube video that's open on my browser but I don't intend to watch. A remapping gesture would be a good enough alternative solution.

Hi there @Fireblorb,

Thanks for posting about this!

Can you let us know if this started happening only recently and what troubleshooting you've done so far, so we don't offer solutions which you've already tried here.

Looking forward to your reply.

If the Now Playing bar does disappear from your screen while using the Spotify app, go to Settings > Apps and scroll down to Spotify. Then open the App Info page and select Force Stop. This should force Spotify to close, ending playback

Hope this helps
