This sounds like an incompatible format issue.

Have you seen this article on accessing Local Files?

https://support.spotify.com/is/using_spotify/features/listen-to-local-files/

They only appear to support 3 types of formats. I have been able to play all my Local Files from iTunes just now. So it does appear to be working.

I heard that the Local Files feature was causing performance issues for some users in the past, so I reckon that is why Spotify may have disabled it by default. Mine was disabled too in the settings.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

What steps did you take to fix this issue?

Just went into the settings and saw that local files had been disabled, probably happened when spotify updated or something.. Whoops. Thanks for the response though!
