On my Mac, it seems to show this extra window that says "Spotify Premium" when you get close to it. I have tried reinstalling it but it still shows up. I'm not sure if this is my computers problem or if I have updated it in the wrong way. Thank you!
Unfortunately, the solution suggested by Lyubka did not solve the issue in my case.
When I restart my computer with Spotify set to startup "Minimized", it happens every time. The issue does not repeat after reboot with the startup and window behavior set to "Yes" or "No". Once I get the issue to occur, simply restarting the application gets it to behave normally.
Hey folks,
Could you check if this issue occurs only with Open Spotify automatically after you log into the computer set to Minimized? Do the new windows show up after changing it to Yes or No instead and rebooting the device?
We'll be on the lookout for your replies. Cheers!
Thanks for the useful info @SammyFreakinB and thanks for confirming @danilozamboni!
I've forwarded this to the attention of our tech team who'll investigate further. As soon as we have any news on this we'll let you folks know. In the meantime, make sure to keep the Spotify app updated.
Take care!
Hey folks!
We made some changes backstage and everything should now be working as intended!
Could you please take a look and confirm? Many thanks 🙏🏼
Hey folks,
We can confirm that this issue should be fixed for everyone. Just make sure to keep your app up to date.
If anything else comes up, the Community will be here.
Cheers!
Additional problems have occurred related to this issue - system details below. When I open a new window by clicking the icon in the dock, it brings up the app as normal then I minimize as normal. When I click the icon (not the minimized window) in the dock it opens another window that can be minimized. It seems to stop at two windows in the dock. Also still getting the squished image at first but ends up correcting itself as time goes on.

Hey there @bradfilip,
Thanks for replying in the thread! Kudos for the info you provided as well.
Just to make sure we cover all bases, have you tried the steps suggested earlier in thread by @Lyubka, after the issue resurfaced? Did you notice that this began happening at any specific points?
It's also worth checking if there are any updates available for your Mac's OS.
Keep us posted!
The problem has seemingly gotten worse, as of yesterday I performed an update to mac OS to 13.6.4. I believe that any "features" offered as a part of the app should be able to be used without causing these issues, meaning if my preference is to have a setting turned on (in the second screenshot), it should function properly. In my screenshot, the circled image is what i see when my computer first starts up (a squished thumbnail). After clicking the main app icon in the dock to open up the window it creates a never ending cycle of thumbnails in the dock after minimizing.
Hey @bradfilip! This should be taken care of in an upcoming update of the app. Stay tuned!
Cheers 🙂
