It sucks that I can't block artists on Mac desktop app

Supposedly I can block an artist from a daily mix. I'm going to cancel my subscription because this sucks.

Thanks for reaching out about this and welcome to the Community. We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

You can block an artist in the app.  You just need to go to the artist profile on your mobile phone app > Click the 3-dot menu > select "Don't play this". This will block all content from the artist on all devices. Note that if the artist is featured in a song/album from another artist it might still be playable.

On another note, if you want to stop getting recommendations about certain music, you can now exclude it from your taste profile. More info here.  

Lastly, if you'd like to have this option in the desktop app, we suggest that you add your +Vote to this idea. Despite its current status, you can still add your vote to it and if anything changes in the future, we'll make sure to keep everyone updated over there.

Thanks, I did give the feature request an upvote.

Please ask your development team to consider this:

- This isn't a hard feature to implement, easier to just do it than kick the can down the road.

- Some of us do not use the mobile app AT ALL. I only listen to Spotify on my desktop and in my car (Android Automotive version)

- When an artist comes on that I can't stand, I have to stop what I am doing, run over to my desktop and skip the tune. As you can imagine, this becomes very irritating.

It's not true (anymore?) In that "three-dots" menu I only see "Follow," "Go to artist's radio," "Report," and "Share." No option to block the artist. (macOS 14.0, Spotify 1.2.22.982.g794acc0a.)
