My Question or Issue
Any time I type anything into the main search bar, I get the "Something went wrong. Try reloading the page." with the "RELOAD PAGE" button which goes back to the home page.
I can still stream music but I have no joy searching.

Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

I tried also a clean reinstall before but doesn't work.
I don't have another account
can't you guys fix this problem or no?
The problem is that I can't install the latest version because 10.15.7 was not supported by spotify... I think is an operation to obstacle the old computers and force to buy new one... I hate this!!!
Spotify please fix that bug!

My Question or Issue
Using app version on mac and for the last week when trying to type something in the search (artist, song, etc.), an error appears saying "Something went wrong. Try reloading the page" with a reload page button. Have already tried deleting spotify app and cache and restarting which has not resolved the issue.
Hey @wheathins, thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Can you try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps? These steps are more thorough than the simple reinstall and can solve common issues. If you're still having trouble, can you let me know the make and model of the device you're experiencing this on?
You can also send me a screenshot of where you’re seeing this, making sure to hide sensitive info when posting to the Community.
Let me know how everything goes!
I am long time Spotify user on Macpro Catalina Version 10.15.7 - cannot currently use search function - Error Message " Something went wrong" - have tried reload
and other obvious ways to correct - no success - Any help welcome
Thanks - Fergus CB

My Question or Issue
Thanks Billy-J for the response, but this did not solve the problem. I did have to download an older version 10.15 than the link in your instructions as I am still running macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 on an older iMac (27-inch, Late 2013). My Spotify is a premium family account and it was not having this problem until ~2 weeks ago. When typing a song, artist, album in the search bar, I am getting a "Something went wrong...Try reloading the page". with a Reload Page button. When I hit the button, the normal screens come back and I can follow all the links such as "Made for..." and "Recently Played..." and "Discover pics for you...." And when I first click on the search bar, the "Browse all..." buttons come up with all the different genres which I can follow all the links. But as soon as I type something in the search bar, then the reload error message again......
Followed steps and didn't work. I did have to download an older version of spotify than your link 10.15 because I am working off an older iMAC (27-inch, late 2013) running macOS Catalina Version 10.15.7. But it was working just two weeks ago, so I don't know. I can click on all the links with no problems. And when I click on the search bar, the links for different genres come up and I can follow those links. But as soon as I start clicking a song/artist/album in the search bar, I always get this error message. Clicking the reload button resets, but same problem every time.
I have the same problem...
I have the same problem, Search bar recently stopped working. Thanks to whomever suggested cmd+k, that works for now.

I have been a premium subscriber since 2016 and I am not in a position to upgrade this computer at this time. I understand about deprecating software, but it seems that there are a lot of people affected by this. We all know what happened to Sonos when they forgot about their legacy users. I hope that Spotify can devote a little bit of resources to solving this problem for us.
CMD K worked. Thanks so much!

My Question or Issue
`cmd-k` is not reliable. Very often, I have Spotify app as an active app in MacOS (as confirmed by looking in menubar, which shows "Spotify"), but `cmd-k` doesn't work.
I must click somewhere in the UI to make it focused, and only then `cmd-k` works again.
I believe there could be an issue where Spotify the app is focused, but the WebView in Electron is not; or something similar.
I believe it's a regression which started about 2-3 weeks ago or so. Never had problems before.
en mi mac , ya no funciona buscar artista o cancion o demas....que se puede hacer..:?
Guys, Command K is the only way to search for now.
I tried the CMD + K .. but doesn't allow us to click on the thing we searched.. WE need another work around
Hello,
I have an older iMac with macOS Catalina 10.15.7. Recently Spotify has started to show the error "Something went wrong" whenever I want to find any music. When I restart Spotify, only way how to use Spotify is listen to Favorite songs and others Albums on the left side bar. No more searching... 😞 Is there any possibility to fix this? Thank you very much.
Monika
I am having the same issue on my Windows laptop for months, tried all the same fixes, nothing worked. Without the ability to search, Spotify isn't worth the money. I will be closing my account.
