Spotify app not playing on Sonoma 14.1

I've also run into this issue. The web version of the app works fine.  The desktop app appears to work but the play button etc buttons are always greyed out. I've tried restarting and reinstalling. The desktop app worked fine a week ago.

I have already tried this... When I'm logging in with another account its working on the Mac.

Thank you for your message.

If a different account seems to be working well, it's possible that your Mac may still have some specific cache stored. So in this case, we'd recommend clearing any entries which contain Spotify from the host files on your computer. To do so, you can follow the instructions mentioned in this post.

After that, we'd also recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app once more and trying again.

Hi there. I've had this issue for a long time.

I just fixed mine by opening it in terminal with this command:

open -a "Spotify.app" -n --args --disable-gpu
