The last few days, I've been having an issue. An ad will always play before the last song on whichever album I'm listening to. After the ad, Spotify will not play the last song. It will not play anything, but will be set up to start the album over if I click Play.

Thanks, Peter, for escalating. I've been having the exact same issue when listening to albums. If an ad plays before the last song on an album, the last song will be skipped and the player will reset and queue the first song. In order to hear the last song, I have to go back and play it on its own. This happens consistently.
Just bumped the escalation on this to see if there is any news for you guys - I appreciate its an annoying issue!

Problem still persists with latest update, 0.9.6.72.ge389c074.
Ad before last song of playlist stops playback as though the playlist had ended.
I have the same problem. The last song in a playlist doesn't play if an ad happens before it (which seems common).
Windows 7 - 64 bit
Spotify version: 0.9.6.72. -------
Thanks
Actually I realized something else too; even if I double click on the last song to try to get it to queue to play after the commercial, it still just goes back to the first song and won't play the last one. If I double click on other songs during commercials the song will play after the commercial. I don't know if that will help if trying to figure out what is going on! Thanks!
I'm also having problems with this. It's minor but still looking forward to it being resolved.
This happens consistently for me too. I have only noticed it when I play a single album in its entirety. An ad plays before what should be the last track and then playback stops altogether. I haven't noticed it in other scenarios.
Spotify version: 0.9.6.81.gd359a796
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1
Problem still persists on Mac, as well.
On the Windows desktop client, there appears to be a bug that causes the last song to be skipped if an ad is played right before it. This is true of both playlists and just double-clicking the first song on an album page. (For example, I just listened to the Dixie Dregs album "Dregs of the Earth," which has 8 tracks. An ad played after track 7; after the ad, the music stopped and the now playing box in the left showed it had cycled back to the first track.) I had sent a support email about this and the suggestion was to try a clean install; I did that, as well as having received at least one Spotify update since then, but I experience this on multiple computers.

Hey draqza, welcome to the Community!
We're sorry to hear you're having this issue and we'd love to help out.
You've mentioned it happens on mutliple computers, which is interesting. Can you also reproduce it on the web player?
With the desktop app, we'd like to know if you can reliably reproduce it easily. So if there's any steps you can go through to make it happen, please let us know.
And attaching a screenshot of your History (click Play Queue in the left, then the History tab) will be super helpful too.
Thanks!
I will try the web player as well and see what I can do. It might take a few days, though. Reproducing it easily is a little hit or miss, because I don't know exactly what Spotify's metric is to figure out when to insert ads into the stream 🙂
OK, I just had the last song in a playlist played twice ... the last song played, then an ad came on and then it played again.

Yes, of course. But this is the first time this has happened as far as I remember
I'm having trouble reproducing it on the web player, but like I said part of the problem is I have no idea what the metric is for inserting ads to craft such a playlist. (The web player doesn't appear to have a right click->add to queue so I can't even work one out as I'm going along.)
Since you're asking me (and several other people, now I see other threads--sorry for starting an extra one) to reproduce it for you, does that mean Spotify's test team has no way to control ad insertion, or that you're all sitting there scratching your heads because despite the numerous reports you can't make it happen in your offices?
We currently haven't been able to reproduce it ourselves, so the more reports we get - the better!
With Spotify 0.9.7.16.g4b197456 I haven't been able to reproduce the problem. Although, ironically, now sometimes it plays the last song in a playlist twice instead of zero times 🙂 (see attached, after playing from the Monster Magnet - Powertrip page).
I'm having almost the exact same problem. I haven't noticed if it's just when an add isplayed before the last song, but it's not every time i play an album.
What is happening for me is when I play an album, it skips the last song and starts the album over, repeat is turned off, I've caught it doing it 3 times in the last few days.
It did it with the Boris album Noise just now.
