Hey @alistairmck, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Could you try reinstalling the Spotify app following these steps?

Let me know how this goes!

Hello,

Spotify was installed on my Mac (Monterey 12.1 - McBook Air 2017).

Yesterday, it said "Spotify (old)" in the dock and in the launch. It also loaded the download page https://www.spotify.com/fr/download/mac/ .
I thought there were a new version released, so I deleted the app and try to install it again.

Except when I try, I got a message that says "impossible to open "install spotify.app" "

Does anyone have a tip so I can have Spotify back on my Mac ?

Thank you !

Hello,

Thanx for joining my question to this thread. I tried the steps.

Unfortunatly, it didn't work.

I followed the steps, found a lot of spotify files in my user library that I deleted too. For what I know, I don't have a single spotify file on my Mac anymore, in computer library or in user library. Restarted it every single step.

I donwloaded the installation file and still my computer says "Impossible to open "install Spotify.app" ...

Any idea on what the problem is ?

Hey @Lili-One,

Thanks for following up here!

Just to make sure we cover all bases, could you double-check so that hosts files are removed as well? You can remove them by following the steps here.

Shouldn't that do the trick, could you try downloading the app from this page to see if you notice any difference?

It's also worth checking for any updates to your Mac's operating system. The steps may vary a bit depending on the exact model, however, you should be able to see if there's an update available by following these steps:

  1. Choose Apple menu > Systems Settings.
  2. Click General in the sidebar > Software Update.
  3. If Software Update finds new software, click the Update Now or Upgrade Now button to install it.
  4. After the Mac is updated, make sure to restart your computer and then try installing Spotify again.

Fingers crossed this helps! Keep us posted on how it goes.
