Spotify app icon persists in MacOS launchpad after uninstall

Hi Spotify users on MacOS,

I followed the instructions to perform a clean uninstall of the Spotify app on MacOS (15.6). However, the app icon remains in the launchpad and cannot be removed - even all Spotify-related files are delete via Finder. It also tried a clean new installation and then again uninstalled it. Same problem, the app icon stays in Lauchpad.

Has anyone the same issue or a solution for this behavior?

I've seen this occur with different apps and it should be fairly easy to resolve 🙂
Take a look at this discussion on Apple's forum pages. It contains useful advice and multiple methods on how the issue can be taken care of.
