Spotify freezing on startup mac

I'm not sure what this falls under and none of the  other forums have solved my problem. When I start spotify on my macbook pro running 10.9.4 it immediately freezes. I cannot do anything but look at a frozen loading symbol. This is the console read-out displayed:

9/16/14 4:38:16.786 PM Spotify[14634]: Internals of CFAllocator not known; out-of-memory failures via CFAllocator will not result in termination. http://crbug.com/45650

As stated in the reinstallation guide:

  1. Open Finder then click Go > Library in the menu bar. (You may need to hold the Alt key if Library isn’t visible).
  2. Open Caches and delete the com.spotify.Client folder.
  3. Click the back arrow.
  4. Open Application Support and delete the Spotify folder.

This should remove the cache :=)

Hey there,

Have you tried doing a full reinstallation of the app (including removing cache)?

I tried reinstalling, but I didn't clear the cache. Can you give the Terminal commands for that? I'd rather not mess around without knowing what i'm doing.
