Spotify friend Activity is broken (longstanding issue)

For more than a year, my Spotify friend's activity has not been updating. By some stroke of luck, I thought it had been fixed when two people showed up in my tab (still not everyone I follow) but nope, it's still not updating.

I have tried entirely quitting, logging in and out, completely deleting Spotify from my computer and re-installing it from scratch. I have gone through my settings and everything that needs to be turned on is turned on etc.

I have seen other people complain of similar issues for years but this still isn't being fixed. Is there any way of fixing this? Anything I haven't tried? (Given I have tried everything recommended on the Spotify website)

It's possible that everyone you follow has their social features turned off, which is now the default behavior.

Have you tried running Spotify on a different network?

You could try clearing your host files, which may affect the app. You can find instructions on how to do that here.

Also, I know for a fact that I have my activity visible on Spotify. You're welcome to follow me to help test, as I'm almost always listening from 8am-3pm EST.
