Spotify refuses to work on my Mac. HELP ME PLEASE.

Okay, so I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8. And when I got it, the first thing I did was download Spotify, since it's kinda my life. It worked great for about 3 or 4 weeks. Then one day I got this message that said "Spotify quit unexpectedly; Mac OS X and other applications were not affected". Something along those lines. And it gave me the option to relaunch, ignore, or report. I tried all three. I've re downloaded it several times and right when the download is about to be completed, the same message comes up. I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT SPOTIFY. So please, from the bottom of your hearts, help out a fellow teenage girl that needs music to relieve her of the stresses of high school. I need music. Also, a few of my friends that have Macs have also had the same problem and Spotify is not working for them currently either. Thank you for your time. (:

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

Mac OS X 10.5.x is no longer being supported by Spotify, hence the most recent client will not work. Due to some issue with the client, it updates to the most recent version even when it shouldn't. 

I have posted a work around on how to get a working client again in this post.

Thank you SOOOOOOO much. It took me awhile to getting around to do this because I'm just naturally slow and didn't know how to reach the Spotify folder to save the dummy files in. But I figured it out and I'm listening to Spotify as we speak! Thanks again!! (:
