can't change country

Please help!

I can't log into the Spotify desktop app, as it says the country I'm in does not match the one in my profile. This is because I'm using a VPN. But when I try to change my country in settings, the drop down menu is greyed out and I don't have that option. I'm stuck in a Catch 22. I'm a free account member, but Spotify's help page clearly states that I can change my country, so it seems dishonest that this option is greyed out.

Try it without a VPN connection or try a VPN service from the UK. If you're using chrome there are a few awesome plugins for that.

Edit: This is one of the plugins I'm talking about.
