5.1 Effect how to disable (5.1 Upmix disable)

Hi on the desktop app spofify seems to be expanding the sound to my center speaker and then reducing the sound in my left and right speaker. I want to use the Very High setting but have spofity only play in stereo and not apply any effects which sound really bad on my speakers.

My pc system is setup as a 5.1 speakers system, but I don't want the center speaker to be used for playing music, just the left and right channel.

Is there a way to disable this?

Is it only spotify, or also on other music/video players/streams?

possible fix:

Did you check the software of your soundcard for something like 'speaker fill'?

If that's enabled, disable it.

That is for me the closest I can get to your situation.

It was an issue with my sound card but only affecting spotify and not other players

So, the issue is fixed or not?

If not, try using headphones port, or configure your sound output to stereo when using spotify.
