I cannot seem to search for artists or tracks, keeps telling me the above.
I can access an artist or the album if I have a track of theirs in my playlist, but cannot search using the search bar.
Only seemed to become an issue in the past hour or so. I've tried logging out and back in, and I've also reset my wireless router, however I've had no joy as of yet.
I'm not sure if makes much of a difference, but I'm a premium member.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I have the same issue with my iPhone 5 and no manner of restarting, removing the App and re-downloading, going offline and back on seems to address it. Any advice would be much appreciated!
To the two posters above me, did you try going to your accounts page on Spotify.com, then checking "Offline Devices"?
As well as taking the device offline via offline settings, try also kicking it out of Spotify's list of Offline Devices (if any - I had 3, but only two devices that I use Spotify on...). Then try going back online on the app itself, and it might kick back in.
For me, it was almost like Spotify had had 3 instances where something had caused the app to go Offline as far as their network was concerned, and when I went back online it had assumed it was a new device. By removing any previous "devices", it allowed my phone back in.
(A clue that something like this has gone amis, I think, is that when you're online, where your account name is usually, under the Main Menu (Search, Browse, Activity etc) the name hadn't resolved to anything, and instead showed a series of numbers (which I take to be my unique identifier with spotify, but without letting the device "online" on their network it couldn't determine whom I was.
Sorry if that doesn't help - it worked for me so that's as far as I got!
I tried logging out and logging back in and its not working. It hasnt been working on my laptop for a week or more now. Whats up? Are you guys going to fix this or should i just stop paying for it. Beacuse i dont want to pay for something that doesnt work. And i cant even really talk to anyone to try and fix it. I can only **bleep**... Its annoying.
search function on iphone does not work
So this was back in last July you guys posted this, and it's still a problem. I regularly have this happen, and wind up having to switch to Pandora or iTunes Radio. Are you listening Spotify?!?
Hi all,
Can see this is still an issue for many, months after I posted the intial concern.
Since the day I first had this problem, I have yet to encounter it again. All I did was delete my app (iPhone) and uninstalled the program from my PC, and re-installed it all. It helps to check for updates, too. It automatically prompts you 9/10, but occasionally, one slips under the radar.
It's a shame to see people are still having this problem, but I hope by removing Spotify from your device and re-installing helps.
All the best,
Sam/Thenotoriousdlc
Hello,
I am experiencing this problem on a Windows 8.1 computer : When searching for an artist and/or clicking on an artist name to see the artist page : An error happened, please try again later
I keep trying later, it still have the same message. I tried to restart Spotify but it doesn't sole the issue.
It seems it is happening since the update of last week.
Is there other users wth the same problem out there?
Thank you
Benjamin
Hello,
same issue here.
Search shows "Irgendetwas ist schiefgelaufen" (german version)...
WIN7/64 Spotify had worked with older software versions without problems!)
---------------------
After Upgrading to version 1.0.6.80 it seems to work again!

Ahh, this problem is back. It survives uninstall, removal download and reinstall.

The problem went away in a very short time. Back to happy Spotify goodness.....
I am currently having this problem with my spotify client. Reading through this list, it seems there is no fix?
The search function is completely dead. and using the help feature on the support page doesn't turn up results.
Is this not a fixable problem for spotify users? I don't save that much music to playlists or local content, so without the search function, i have a paid subscription to nothing, essentially.
Having this problem right now also. Seriously, you guys should be better at testing before releasing an update. Problems way to often. Seriously considering joining apple music
Same issues in France, thanks for your help because it's a bit annoying...
