Anyone else seeing a new playlist size limit on Connect when controlled by desktop app?

My Question or Issue
I have been a premium user for years and I have discovered a new behavior by Spotify Connect, I wonder if other listeners can confirm. When playing through Connect on Amazon Echo speakers, and when playing a large playlist, say over 3,500 songs, you cannot directly choose or change what track is playing from the Windows desktop app, or even from an Android phone app. I have been controlling song playback this way for a long time, and now I cannot. I have done all the reinstalling and re-engaging steps with no change. If you are willing to help, would you please try to play a large playlist on Alexa speakers thru Connect, then try to change play to a new track using your desktop Spotify app? I would be grateful for your experience. Thank you.
