Bluetooth speakers and spotify

Bluetooth speakers and spotify

Hi all,

I wanted to just let you know about an error/bug when streaming Spotify to Bluetooth speakers from my laptop.

Basically, when spotify is running and I then connect my bluetooth speakers Music wont play at all. The "play" button will indicate music is playing but nothing is playing, and the track stays at 0:00.

To fix this I need to restart Spotify and it will then work without any problems and play through the speakers.

This doesn't happen with any other programs, such as iTunes or VLC player, so my guess is that it is to do with Spotify.

Also, this only happens from the Desktop version, the Webplayer works fine too.

Please fix this, as it is rather annoying.

Thanks,

Marc

I have the same issue.

I am fed up, I wil have a look on other providers deezer,kobuz,..

this means it takes minimum of 5 minutes of focused attention everytime i want to turn on some music -- not working for me-- what is better than spotify-- itunes okay but .. any other recommendations for macbooks?

Same bug for me on my mac book pro (Yosemite), Spotify displays a message "can't play the current track ... ", the only way to make it work is to restart Spotify... super annoying.

I am experiencing the same bug with my Windows 10 LapTop and my Parrot Zik Bluetooth headphones. Every time I leave my computer and the headphones go idle, i need to restart spotify when I get back. I also have to kill the spotify web helper process. My other PC sounds work just fine though so it is not a Windows issue.

Please fix this!

Same problem here. Only got bluetooth headphones recently, but now i feel as if i've had this problem for years as it seems they will not get to this any time soon.

Anyone any recommendations for alternatives?

Same issue here with MacBook Air...wtf Spotify?!

Still not fixed, this is happening to me every day when I disconnect my speakers from my laptop, super annoying.

I'm getting this when I walk out of range with my Beats Solo2 headphones, which is very frustrating because I have to restart Spotify anytime I accidently walk out of range. Part of the issue is the headphones don't have the range I was quite hoping for. If anyone has suggestions there, that'd be appreciated too!

Me too, Spotify what you do or say about this bug and then when you fix it ?

Same problem here. And it's been happening for at least a year. It's as though spotify hogs the audio and prevents other sound sources from coming through the bluetooth speakers, even when Spotify isn't playing anything. Spotify PLEASE FIX!

I can also confirm this issue. In particular when I turn off my bluetooth headset spotify audio doesn't return to speakers. Spotify kicks the bucket instead. I have to kill the windows process to be able to restart spotify.

Lenovo Mobile Workstation W530

Windows 10

Latest Spotify version (1.0.31.56.g526cfefe)

Jabbra Sport Rox Bluetooth Earbuds

Had the same problem- have been through loads of threads about sound cutting out when the play bar is still moving, tried all sorts of answers and none of them work. Spotify works fine when I don't connect any expernal speakers, but as soon as I either bluetooth or plug in through a jack, it keeps cutting out. This really sucks- who wants to listen to music through crappy built in speakers??

It doesn't look like this will be fixed anytime soon- its been going on for ages. I'm paying premium too!

I too am paying for premium and getting screwed. Looks like we should start looking elsewhere since we are using modern technology (bluetooth) and Spotify cannot keep up, and is in fact several years behind now on this. It greatly upsets me that Spotify will not even comment on this issue, or admit their faults. Pathetic really. Maybe I'll try Google Music.

Yup, same issue here. It's 2016 and I cannot believe this issue has not yet been solved. I am running Spotify on OS X El Capitain (10.11.6) and Spotify version 1.0.34.146.g28f9eda2

It worked with my Yamaha bluetooth receiver just fine for about a week and then it quit all of the sudden and restarting it won't get it to work anymore.

This is incredibly frustrating.

anyone else triggered that SPotify hasn't responded to this 7 page set of Complaints???

I too have this problem.

Invested in a Bose QC35 wireless bluetooth headset just to find out that I would need to use the cable to listen to Spotify reliably.

Really Spotify? No reaction at all after 3 years??

Windows 10

Macbook Pro

Bose QuietComfort 35

Keeps happening to me too.

On mobile phone is fine tho.

I end up restarting Spotify 5 to 10 times a day. Not acceptable.

I have a similar issue with my BT Headphones.

A few secounds after I start the track, it just stops playing.
This is extremly anoying.

This is really annoying. The only way I can fix this issue with my Spotify on my macbook is to uninstall the app and reinstall, then it will finally play through my bluetooth speakers!

wow, this is still a issue? after all this time? hah... quite lame
i usually have to restart the app 1-3 times, and then it works again 🙂
