Can only play local files, nothing from Spotify

Hey all, 

I can't play any Spotify songs. If I press play on a playlist, the play button will appear for a few seconds and then go back to paused. If I select a song, any song, indiviually all that pops up is "This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it."

I've already uninstalled it and the reinstalled it.

I've turned off all sources for local files in the hopes that, since those are the only ones I'm able to play, it would do something (other than make it impossible to have those local files in Spotify) but it hasn't helped.
