Can't add to the queue

Can't add to the queue

After loading the latest update (version 1.0.7.157.g2a6526f9), it cleared my queue and now won't let me add anything new to the queue. I've tried right clicking from my history, from new albums, anywhere. I can play music directly but can't seem to add anything new to the queue.

Any ideas?

Please don't leave Spotify just because of this!  Just block updates on a Desktop version 0.9.x that works as described >> at this link. <<

@jayy

@martytdx

@lalaloopsie, Thanks for staying with it!

Certainly, play "debug the newest version of Spotify player" to the extent that it entertains you.  But do not overdo it until your frustration makes you leave Spotify-- the music selection here is far beyond anything anyone else offers!

When you want to queue up your music so that You control what you hear-- use some earlier debugged Spotify player that actually works, please!

I'm still fighting to have this come back. I even took it to the CEO's twitter account and slammed with him Spotify Cares.... Spotify knows they can have a **bleep**ty program, and still keep it's users just because... That's how it works... As much as Apple Music works and many other services do work it just isn't the same. However I will not give up the FIGHT.

Yayyyy!  I admire that!  Nice and inspiring report of your persistence in being right on!

Don't go away, please.

I think I did a month ago figure out a workaround to trick and force Desktop version 1.0.x into accepting my insertions to the "Yellow" editable queue-- which would be acceptable-- if version 1.0.x had the other elementary functionalities-- which it does not yet.

I installed 1.0.11.134.ga37df67b - no change to my earlier report

I notice we haven't seen a moderator responding in this thread since June.  I must have really stumped them back when I described this (INCREDIBLY EASILY REPRODUCIBLE) issue in 1.0.7.

I'm downgrading to 1.0.6 every time (which isn't very often...I'm barely using Spotify any more at this rate; just too much hassle to make it "work.")

I am curious.

You liked 1.0.6 better than 0.9.x ?

I don't want to use playlists just so I can queue tracks. I want to be able to queue tracks (way more than 50 btw) and play those! Why the **bleep** are you holding queueing hostage, Spotify? You **bleep**ing **bleep**. Give us this **bleep**ing RUDIMENTARY FEATURE back, **bleep**ing immediately. NOW.

Grr! I just get so angry!

I'm angry! Angry about Spotify!

@corey1234567890

I like your Spirit!

Applause!  Bravo!  Good song!  Great percussion riffs!

But I am curious why just rolling back to the >> Desktop version that lets you control your queue as you describe << is not good enough.

Or is it?  I am just curious.

But

Go go go . . . . !

Rolling back is not a solution.

I refuse the idea that I have to resort to BYPASSING OFFICIAL UPDATES in order to use a program. If this ever happens, I immediately stop using the proram. No exceptions. Official updates SHOULDN'T render the software more difficult to use, or outright useless. This new version is a step back, and Spotify has been walking backwards a really **bleep**ing long time now with no sign of turning around.

It'll be a long ass time until I reinstall Spotify, if that ever happens.

I was a little late to the 0.9.x party.  So it's not so muchthat 1.0.6 is "better" as it's the one I'm more used to working around.

Oh the silence from Spotify is killing me. Maybe a fix is on the horizon, lol!

Hey guys

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community.

Could you let us know the following:

  • The device and OS you're currently using.
  • The version of Spotify that you're running. (File > About Spotify)

If you could let me know this information, I'd love to get this investigated for you. Just to note, it may be worth a reinstall of the app again. This will make sure all files are up-to-date and that there is no rogue files causing the issue.

Thanks.

I have ZERO complaints.  I am using Desktop Windows XP, Vista, and 8.1 with Spotify >> version 0.9.15.27.... << installed everywhere.

I have posted here just to keep dedicated music aficionados from giving up on Spotify because of defective "software" or "installation"-- and I hope by my posting here only to keep those dedicated aficionados from settling for the vastly inferior catalogs of every other music service mentioned so far.

Suddenly the "add" to queue option gone altogether..... was working an hour ago, so no upgrade in between
it was blank, I started a new playlist, it reappeared, but still no option to add

@LucyLuLuu What version please?

Please see my response to Moderator Adam back in June (message 14 in this thread) along with all my followups.  I'm on a Windows 7 desktop.  I'm also pretty sure I gave detailed instructions on how to reproduce this issue coming on two months ago, so consider me "pessimistic" on seeing results.

Nonetheless, this defect has existed for two months and five releases, so perhaps you'll forgive me if I ask you to keep the focus of THIS thread on my valid complaint.

I completely sympathize, @CRZ, and you are right.  Have you tried >> my solution yet? <<

Im on an S3, running 3.4.0.764
Queue is working now, but playlists won't run, plays 1 song, then back to queue......
Cant win lol
