My Question or Issue

For the last week or so, following a Spotify update, I've just got a black screen on opening the desktop app. I've done a clean reinstall and now I just get a login window inviting me to log in via the website. When I try to do this I get a window on the website inviting me to continue to the app - which invites me to log in via the website - and so on forever. I've tried disabling my firewall. Can anyone help?

Hey @rcunnew 

 

That error is a connection based error which means the Spotify client was unable to communicate with the Spotify servers. Normally it does mean your connection is being prevented by a firewall or other security software - but it can also be caused by other factors. 

 

You could try to connect using a different Wifi network, just to see if it's a local issue or a network one.
