Have you tried reinstalling your app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.

Hi all - after just about tossing Spotify because the can’t play current song problem cropped up constantly I have found a solution that works - having tried all the suggestions I have found on this site to no avail, I have invested in a wireless extender which seems to have improved the stability. My router is in another room and the notebook linked to my TV, DAC and speakers still showed good wifi coverage. It was perfectly fine for browsing, Netflix etc, but obviously not for Spotify.
