My Question or Issue
While listening to podcasts online (Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome), the website doesn't let me skip through podcasts. Instead, the podcasts are restarted with an ad. I have a premium subscription and the function is available via my mobile app. I started on Edge (cache clears on exit), but went to Chrome with a fresh cache and the problem persists. What's going on, and how can you fix it?
Hey there @1230381753,
Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community.
Just to confirm, does this happen with all podcasts or only with a specific one? Also, have you checked if the same happens if you use a different internet connection? If you haven't, we suggest that you do so. For example, if you've been using WiFi, you can create a hotspot on your phone and use that to test this.
On another note, sending us a screen recording of the issue happening would come in handy. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
We'll be waiting for your reply.
Hi! I'm having this problem as well. Just started this week. It's only happening when I try to play a podcast episode (I can skip through songs just fine), and only on the web player. I've tried on a variety of different internet connections and after clearing browsing data, but the problem persists.
Hey there @376583028,
Thanks for posting here and welcome.
Just to confirm, while you try to skip the episode of a show, it restarts with an ad? It'd be awesome if you could send us a detailed description of exactly what is happening on your side.
On another note, we'd like to gather some additional info to have a better understanding of this behavior. Please send us:

I have the same issue. Though I am a premium member, so I don't get the add.
Whenever I try to skip forward or backwards 15 seconds or when I try to use the slider to go to a specific time, it just restarts the episode.
i.e. 20 minutes into an episode I missed a sentence and tried to skip back 15 seconds. It restarted the episode and now I can't get back to where I were without listening to the entire 20 minutes again. I have tried in two different browsers and the app, they all have the same issue
Hey @Damogen,
Thanks for reporting this as well 🙂
To further look into the issue, as mentioned by @AlejaR, we'd like to know if this happens with any podcast episode or only specific ones.
If it's the latter, we'd like to ask you to send us a link to the affected episodes so that we can check things out on our end.
Note that a video recording of what's going on on your ends would be beneficial in case this turns out to be something we need to relay to our tech folks backstage.
Much appreciated! We'll be on the lookout for additional replies here 🙌🏼
I also have the same exact issue with any Podcast. As soon as you trip to skip 15 sec in any direction or find a specific spot in the episode it automatically starts over. I don't have this issue with songs or using the APP on my phone. There isn't any sort of error code so I don't know what a video is going to do for you. Spotify should be able to correct this issue as it appears to be very common.
