Cant get rid of spotify task. Wont restart because "spotify is already running"

 Just as the title says i cant get the process to end so i can restart it or reinstall. Cant end the task in task manager because "access is denied" even though im the administrator. Cant delete the "Spotify" subfolder because " its currently being used by a running program". Cant delete through control panel because "its currently running". Cant reinstall with the downloaded installer because " an instance of spotify is already running". I have no clue what to do to make this work.

Hi @Thunderwesel, thanks for posting on the Community!

Does the process stay even when you restart your computer? If so, try going to the 'Startup' tab on Task Manager and disable Spotify.

This worked to be able to delete it but when i reinstalled i had the error code 17 so I ended up having to reinstall it and run it in windows xp compatability mode but its working now 🙂
