Hey @Scaadoo,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community!

By "speaker setting" you mean the default output device in Windows, correct? Is it possible to send us a short video of how things look on your end when this occurs? If the file is too large to attach here, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.

In the meantime, it's worth trying the following:

  • Check if you're using a sample rate higher than 192kHz in the Advanced tab of your speaker's settings (Control Panel - Sound - Output - Device properties - Additional device properties).
  • If you're using the Microsoft Store version of the app, uninstall it and try the one from our website and vice versa.
  • If possible, connect another audio output device and see if you get the same result with it.

Keep us posted.

Hi thank you - seems I may not have had media streaming to all devices properly set up, so I will give that a go and see how I get on

I am getting the impression the LS50 Wireless II is designed - as the name suggests - for WiFi use for the most part

Still with Spotify Premium on Windows 10 I have to switch the KEF Wireless II speakers off and on again before I can listen to a different album

On Spotify Connect through the KEF app of my Android phone I have to switch device to another and back again before I can listen to a different album on my MEF LS50 Wireless II speakers

Hey @Scaadoo,

Thanks for the reply!

Are you using a desktop or a laptop? Could you give us a bit more info about how your speakers are connected to your computer - is it through WiFi only? It'd be great if you can make a screen recording as @MihailY requested so that we can have a closer look.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

I'm using a desktop windows 10 64 PC connected by cat 6 ethernet cable to
the router

My KEF LS 50 Wireless II are connected by cat 6 ethernet cable to the
router as well as by wi-fi

Hi @Scaadoo,

Thanks for the reply.

In this setup, would it be possible to connect the devices to a different network and test if the issue persists? Perhaps you can connect them all to a hotspot from your phone and use the speakers with Wi-Fi only.

In addition, the video requested by @MihailY would be really helpful, so please make one so we can have a closer look at the setup and the behaviour.

Let us know how it goes.

When I go onto Spotify Premium on my desktop pc & play an album it goes to play on 'wired connection' and I have to use 'connect to a device' to select LS50 Wireless II-15465a

When the album is finished playing it ends the session with the LS50 and I have to power the KEFs off and then on again to reselect them to use for the next album I choose to play

Hey @Scaadoo,

Any wireless Connect speaker needs to be active in order for a desktop device to be able to play through it.
I suppose the speaker goes actively online when switched off and on again, I'm just wandering if it's going into idle mode or something when you finish playing. Does this only happen with albums or with other playlists and songs as well?

In addition, the video requested by @MihailY would be really helpful, so please make one if possible so we can have a closer look at the setup and the behaviour. We'd like to see what leads to the issue occurring and if there are any visible changes within the Connect picker and, in relation to to what @Joan has asked - try testing the speaker with Wi-Fi only. See if it plays and if it idles away from discovery on the desktop PC after it's been used by a different master device.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂

Thanks

It happens when whatever I have selected to play - be it an album, a single
track or a playlist - finishes

Thanks for the response @Scaadoo.

Could you turn on Autoplay via Settings? It should enable continuous playback so let's test if this'll make any difference.

While the speaker is playing already, you can also try with adding something to the queue. Let's test if whatever you've added to the queue continues to play after the album/track/playlist finishes.

Lastly, just in case I also recommend checking out the info via this link to ensure that you're following the correct steps for Connect.

Keep us posted 🙂

Autoplay is on

I use Spotify Connect through the KEF Android App

Hey @Scaadoo,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop and for the info provided!

As this only seems to happen when using the speaker, it sounds like it might be related to the specific device and the current setup. In this case, we recommend reaching out directly to the speaker's manufacturer, so that they can have a closer look as well.

If you need anything else, we're just a post away.
