Converting local MP3 playlists to Spotify playlists?

Converting local MP3 playlists to Spotify playlists?

Hi

From the "old days" I have some MP3 music files on my computer, from which I'd like to create a matching Spotify playlist, so I could delete the local MP3 files and use only Spotify. Is this technically possible somehow? For example in WinAmp you can create a playlist file, can that be converted to a Spotify playlist? That way I wouldn't have to find and pick all the songs manually to my Spotify playlist.

Many thanks.

You could try adding the folder where your mp3 files are located to Spotify Local Files and with a bit of luck if the songs have proper id3 tags it will recognize the songs as if they were actually in Spotify. Then you can add them to a playlist and delete the mp3 files. If a song looks grayed out then it couldn't be recognized or it's not in spotify.

Excellent, this solved it. Thanks!
