What is a good alternative to Spotify ?

Solved!

What is a good alternative to Spotify ?

I've been using Spotify for years, both on my PC and on my different mobile phones, paying a Premium subscription every month, but how they could force upon us this "new" unfinished piece of crap is beyond me  o.O

So, just out of general principle, I'm now looking for another streaming platform I can give my money to, do you guys know of a good alternative to Spotify ?

Is Deezer any good maybe ?

Thanks  🙂

Pyrou, here's how you can "downgrade" (which is really actually an upgrade here) to the previous much better version :

Since spotify removed "Top Tracks played on spotify" I have been trying to find a service that truly shows what the most played songs are. I found Deezer and LOVE it!! Deezer is what spotify used to be 🙂 You can see the most played songs and see which ones are popular.

I suggest you 1) Block updates and 2) Uninstall and Re-install Desktop 0.9.x -- And enjoy the music until the dust settles.  All of us heavy Spotify users did that and missed only a few beats.

If you need a link for more detailed instructions, please ask-- Somebody will give you the link if I am off grooving somewhere to this fantastic Spotify music library that knows no bounds!

Well, yes, that's what I did (rollback to 0.95 and block new updates), but like I said it's more a matter of general principle ... they did something that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and they should be "punished" for it one way or another ... and losing paying customers would be a good punishment I think  😜

It's a competitive world out there, they need to realize that Spotify isn't the only streaming platform, and that as paying customers we don't have to stick with them no matter what, if we're dissatisfied with what they're doing we're free to take our money somewhere else  😉

I too am on the lookout for an alternative. There really is no reason to stick with Spotify, it'll be a hassle to make my playlists from scratch but as soon as I have a free day I'm out of here. The program has become a joke.

Grooveshark seems alright

edit: if link is missing then you can probably guess what happend.

I'll check it out... Anyone here had any experience with Deezer?

LOL, they're panicking and removing the link to Grooveshark, maybe they think we're so stupid we won't be able to find it on our own ?

Oh wait, they DO think we are stupid, as they thought that we would accept this horrible update that they forced upon us to flatter their obnoxious ego !

I don't have any experience with Deezer yet (or Grooveshark), for now I just rolled back to 0.9.15, but I think I'm gonna try them out just to test them and see how they work, and maybe I'll like them  🙂

I'm moving my spotify playlists to deezer as we speak. It's not the same but seing how bad the last update is I say it's still waaaay better.

Hello,

how can i downgrade to a prevous version? Whith latest update i've lost musixmatch function...

Thank you!

Yeah tired of SPOTIFY now, think its time to give someone else my money... Seems to be more for them and not the musicians....

I am out of here....

Amen brother, I'm so sick and tired of their **bleep**ing **bleep**. The service is always down, I'm so sick and tired of it. And I'm sick and tired of spending 10 minutes doing 5 or six screens of captcha tests just to post in the forum and spending another 10 minutes on captcha just to edit my darn posit. It's disgusting how they treat their users.
