This, together with the removal of "What's New" are the only two things I dislike with Spotify.
The removal of "What's New" is at least a design choice.
The inability to delete radio stations on the other hand seems just... weird. It is a core functionality. To me it makes as much sense not to have this ability as to not being able to delete playlists. It's the same darn thing. The Radio feature should not have been made public before this option was implemented, period.
@PocketAppZ I'm not sure i agree with any of his points at all. The article is two years old nearly now. I am 56 years old and have been an avid music listener all my adult life. £9.99 per month for access to Spotifys amazing catalogue is a bargain. I used to spend a fortune on purchasing vinyl and then CDs. Far more than what Spotify charge. Admittedly the illegal download option is cheaper but like i said, it is illegal.
I do think the new Spotify client is rubbish and have "downgraded" to version 0.8.5 which i find to be the best version. Apart from their new garbage version i am very happy though.
I'd rather go back to Pandora. At least with that app, I can use my jailbroken iPod to get truly unlimited skips. Not to mention Pandora has the one feature that this topic is about: deleting stations.
Not being able to delete is more than a pain. It is a large blemish on an otherwise good music player. Please fix it so I don't change to another player.
Users deserve the option to delete radio stations. Time to fix this please.
That is a working workaround, but the beancounters at spotify needs to understand that it is a very bad idea to force a radiostation of junk like Rihanna upon a paying customer that has other radio stations containing Magma (yes, the french ones) and Van der Graaf generator.
Not even if you paid me what I pay you would I listen to something like Rihanna. I am just not interested.
If so many people are asking for this, any particular reason it is being ignored?
this is what the Spotifiers said a while back:
Hello folks!
We're very much aware of how popular is this request, but at the moment we are trying to be as transparent as possible with all of our users, we are working on other projects that feel are much higher priority right now. We are going to mark it as “Not Right Now” since this won’t happen in the coming weeks.
We think it is better to change this status back to “Under Consideration” or “Watch this space” once we are closer to implementation. I hope this make sense to all of you and, as I said above, that doesn´t mean we won´t build it or we won´t come back to it, we know this is actually one of the most “trending” ideas requested by Spotify fans everywhere.
Thanks so much for your feedback and keep voting it up! 🙂
So they admit it's one of the most "trending" (whatever that means) ideas requested...so that should mean this "trending idea" should move to the #1 spot on the to do list right? I don't get it either but the Spoties seem ambivalent.
As I've said before. This issue will get looked at sometime soon never. It's been a massive trending issue for over a year now so yes you would think it would be a priority. This thread goes exactly to show how much notice Spotify takes of it customers. Nil. Zero. Zilch. The moderators will say they are listening and have passed on the problem/idea to the developers and that is as far as anything goes.
.
So...if all of us paying for "Unlimited" sevice - not "Premium" - just "unlimited" - means we really DON'T matter in your general scheme of things...goodbye. Will do EVERYTHING I CAN to unsubscribe to your 1st level (w/o ads) service. Know it means nothing to you - but principal...
That is total crap. You're telling me music I try and completely hate can bump off music I love. Who's the genius who thought that one up. In case you don't get sarcasm, by genius I really mean total flippin idiot.
I canceled my paid Spotify a mere week after I signed up. Can't delete radio stations? Can't rename radio stations? Why would I continue to pay for Spotify when I can get comparable and better service from Pandora? Sure, I can't look up a specific song on Pandora. But I own an iPhone so I can easily switch to my YouTube app or launch Grooveshark (got it via Cydia) and play the song I want to hear.
Goodbye, Spotify. I wish I could say it was fun while it lasted but it didn't even last long enough to be fun.
You realize of course, nothing is forcing you to listen to the stations you don't like. Just because you have to look at them doesn't mean you have to listen to them. I don't spend time looking at the player, I spend time listening.
If I had a choice between the ability to remove radio stations and restoring the useful features that have been recently removed, guess which one I'm going to choose?
And I've said it before, but if you're here for the radio, you should be looking elsewhere. Other sites do radio much better than Spotify. Radio is just a bonus, if you want to call it that.
Good point Rollo, I think the issue is that Spotify seems ambivalent about what appears to be something that is an easy fix. Not sure where you are from but we Americans are such whiners that we need it all....just sayin. It is a bit of an aggravation regardless.

Wisconsin. We only whine when the Packers lose.
Well you shoud hear all the whining around here, I am in the midst of Steeler and Raven territory - jeez o man - you'd think these people lost the ranch. I am a Redskins fan myself so I am accustom to losing.
Try being in Astros territory, yuck. I'm not a baseball fan, but still, the stench of sucktitude...
So you're telling everyone to just add up to 20 more stations and the one you don't want will drop off the end??? Holy heck, guys, this is Programming 101. If you can Add something you should be able to Delete something, EASILY.
I'm currently 1 week into the 30 day free premium trial, and I've already decided that I'm not going to be paying for Spotify or even using the free version anymore. So far there are 3 dealbreakers for me.
1. The inability to delete unwanted radio stations.
2. The inability to create radio stations based on more than one song/artist.
3. The lack of simple, helpful information on how to use Spotify. Some songs don't sync to my iphone, others seem to sync but then show up in playlists greyed out and can't be played. Playlists can't be sorted.
I'm fed up. Spotify looks like a fantastic service until you actually start using it. They could make it great, and based on my personal experience as well as many comments that I've read hear, they are choosing not to. That's a shame, but I'll keep on looking for a decent music service.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
